Capital One phone messages 2x day for over 3 weeks ripoff Richmond Virginia
I have been receiving phone messages twice daily for over 4 weeks with no specific information other than a phone number. There is always a call in the morning and a second one about 8 hours later.
Every time the voice states that it is not a sales call and they need to discuss an important matter with us immediately. They only leave a phone number with no other information. They do not even identify who they are. Even when I answer the phone directly it is still a message and no actual person.
Through research on the internet I discovered others have received this same type call from this particular phone number. How can this be stoppped?

Have you called them back?

Two things:
1) If your account is not delinquent in any way (you didn't say if it was or not), it could be the fraud department trying to notify you of suspicious activity on your account. However, the frequency seems like an awful lot, even for that reason.
2) Have you called the number that they ask you to call? Or at least call Capital One's main number directly and ask them to verify that the phone number left in the messages is a valid one. That seems to me to be the most logical way to find out why they're calling.

Pay your bill?

If this is indeed Capital One and you indeed have a Capital One account that you have missed payments on, than you can easily stop the calls by paying your bill, or setting up a payment schedule with them.
If you do not have an account with them, than call the number back and explain as such with them. It is possible they have a wrong number or are calling about a family member who is delinquent.
