Since December 2004, Capital One has refused to honor the Soldiers and Sailors Civil releif Act and reduce my APR to 6%. On the contrary, they raised my APR and decided to take me off the joint account I have with my wife, claiming that I'm just an authorized user. When I asked for a copy of my application showing that I signed up jointly with my wife, they gave me the run around claiming that they do not have it. Capital One claims that it supports the military and hires military veterans, yet they do not honor what they claim in benefits to the soldiers through the SSCRA. I filed a complaint with the FTC, but I would like everybody to know how Capital One treats the service men and women of the military. I called their headquarters and left several messages but got no answer as you may have expected. I will continue to request my benefits through various legal channels.
