Complaint Review: Capital OneBank USA NA

I was a dream customer for Capital one for over years. Always keeping a balance and paying more than the minimum, on what initially seemed like a fair APR.  Then in 2006, I had lost my job, and still managed to keep up payments for 4 months. I contacted them when I knew I couldn't meet the minimum, and warned them of my situation. Instead of working with me. They promptly increased my interest rate when I was late, then became unreasonable in insisting I pay several months minimum even though I had no income. Months earlier they were sending me blank checks for up to $15k in loans, yet they wouldn't work with me when I needed help most.

If they had just froze my account, in 4-5 months I had work again and would have happily resumed payments. Now they are reporting a balance owed of over $15,000.00, even though I did not charge once cent more than my limit of $7500.00. They have imposed so many fees, yet cannot provide me with a copy of accounting. I consider this fraud, usury, and blackmail. They can hold their breath waiting for me to ever pay this. I would have paid off the initial by now, had they been reasonable. Tired of being reamed by legal ripoff practices. They are their own worst enemy, and I am now a close second! I will tell everyone within earshot, BEWARE of capital one--any branch -- any name affiliated even!!
