Capital Publishing has been walking in a very gray area with regards to how it represents itself when selling ad space to its clients. If you are on the receiving end of a sales call you will be lead to believe that they are somehow related to the Department of Defense and/or Health and Human Services. They want their clients to think that they are writing in depth articles about a particular modality and amazingly enough the clients product is somehow going to be written into it and give a positive light.

Now for the truth; the articles that Capital Publishing prints in its magazines are already written and are in the public domain. Their editor doesn't write these articles. They simply troll the Internet for them.

So what they really do is locate an article on a military or government web site that would fit one of their existing or prospective clients, call them up and tell them that their product would benefit from being positioned next to the article that they wrote. They keep up this charade until they sell enough ads to fill a magazine and then go to press.

I would also question the actual quantities that are produced. Not saying its right or wrong. Just suggesting advertisers should really check this for their own protection.

Oh, and there is no one at Capital named John Phillips. Thats really Tom. There are several more fake names used in the credits of the books to make CP look much bigger than they are.

Happy Publishing!
