It all started when I recieved a phone call one day from capital vacations. They told me about their program, and it sounded great. I was informed that if I didn't want it that I could cancel at any time and not be billed a single cent. So I decided I may as well try it and see what they have to offer.

About a week later I recieve their "package" which was little more than a lame book welcoming me to the program, and a corny "travel id card". I thumbed it over, looked through the benefits and decided it was surely not something I was interested in paying the $59.95 initial payment, and $19.95 a month there-after. It was at this point that I read the instructions for canceling my membership. To put it simply it was something like send your travel id card and a notice of cancellation to this address, and it will be canceled.

I canceled my membership on 7-9-04, my free trial ended on 7-15-04, And SURPRISE! They billed my account $59.95 on 7-17-04. Today (the 17th) is saturday, so my bank is closed. First thing monday though, I will be going there before work and see what I can do...if nothing else I will withdraw my balance, and change my account number so I don't get billed shortly after as I have heard of happening to several other people here.

I was told I will be getting a refund

I got through to their customer service number, and canceled my membership (which was already supposed to be done through normal postal mail), and they stated I would be getting a refund of all money paid within the last 45 days. The message stated I would have my account that was billed credited within 7 days...so I will update this again next week and let everyone know what happens! P.S. If you get a busy signal to their customer support line, keep at it...hang up, redial, repeat...took me about 7 tries and I got through to them.
