Complaint Review: Capone Trucking of Clewiston FL.

Wow, this company (these Camastra's) has really mislead this guy!

I was hired by Capone trucking ,,they lied to me about their company and told me that Mcoy and all his drivers were no good thieves,

Steve camastra only wanted to hire me for my hevay haul contacts,, they have no exerpience in trucking let alone heavy haul...they are dishonest people,,steve told me that is does not consider a broker contract that forbids his company from contactingor hauling for a brokers shipper legal and he ignores the contract and will go around the broker and try to haul for the brokers shippers direct,,very dishonest,,

as for drivers pay Capone does not with hold federal taxes nor medicare taxes and social security deductions very ILLEGAL to classify his driver employees as contractors and not actual employees,,Capone trucking does not have workers compensation insurance as required by florida law .

If you worked for capone notify the state of florida's workers compensation commision and the IRS for not with holding payroll taxes there could be a reward from the IRS.

After my experience with Steven camastra and capone trucking I do believe everything that McCoy and other said about them.very dishonest people,,,

steven camastra acts like a big shot with a lot of money but his company is loosing money big time,, recently one of their used trucks was stolen that they were having trouble selling,, I suspect that they had it stolen to collect insurance  it fits the profile of a company looing money and has probable financial difficulties

I have read the complaints and from my experience with Steve Camastra and his family I believe it is all true.,

Who ever Mike W is I assume it is Chris Camastra it is BULL the company is having severe financial problems,,they switched to heavy haul and don't havea clue how to run a trucking business..

They di lie are dishonest and flat out no good and can not be trusted,,

Steve even blames everyone else for his lack of ability to run a business he blames his black drivers for his problems with refrigerated work and told me he WOULD NEVER HIRE BLACK POEPLE AGAIN

Actually yall were paid and then some. When yall were let go they rented trucks so you could get home.  Some of the employees were steeling from the Camastra's  (selling fuel and tires)  when they booted you out the door.  I've been here since May of 2015 and they have been nothing but good to me. I have no problems getting paid for the work I've done and have been paid extra bonuses for doing a good job. The only thing I can fault them for are the idiots they hired befor. The Camastra's are in no danger of being sued or loosing the operating athority. Capone is a stable company with ethical business practice . Steven,Teresa, and Chris are good people. 

All I can say...the name CAPONE shouldn't be worn by some people. At least AL Capone was man enuff to face those he done wrong. Hey Capone trucking, get your facts together, you're listing names of the McCoy Family that has their own trucking operations. Unlike you guys, they're 4 sets of McCoy Family Trucking companies,now we don't just say JOIN THE FAMILY...WE ARE A BIG TRUCKING FAMILY and you try to lie and slander me but anyone who reads your rebuttal clearly see that you're a LIAR, CON, and a CHEAT.

Pay those drivers their money that you and your company OWES them CAPONE!!! How can you take a driver's check for a pallet rejection that THE OWNER (MR. BIG MAN STEVE CAMASTRA) himself told the shipper that he wasn't re-delivering. The driver did his job but this jerk after reading the postings, sent out bogus deductions to ALL the drivers trying to justify why they didn't receive their pay checks....REALLY! We know this as CROOKS IN TRUCKING where I come from! Now, why Capone Trucking didn't pay, nor give pay stubs, nor pay settlement stubs to the other drivers,,,Again..REALLY?

WOW, those Camastra's got alittle upset with truth! Well, that's normally what happens. First I (LeFonza McCoy) would like to say, I don't have to try and defame, nor slander anyone because they expose the truth. I've never been arrested 18 times, nor have a felony record. However, I have owned my own trucking company for 20 years and these crooks..(Steven, Chris, & Teresa Camastra..CAPONE TRUCKING) ask me to so call help build there company. They thought I would be DUMB enough to give them all my DIRECT contacts and business that McCoy Trucking has been engage with for years. After the idiots realized that wasn't happening, they got upset because Capone Trucking just got a MC# & USDOT# November 16, 2014, and there trucks started rolling around the first week in December. Being a new comer, the company could not haul for certain companies nor brokers. McCoy Trucking did them a favor by ALLOWING Capone Trucking to haul several loads under their authority. Capone Trucking got a claim (1 of several claims in such short time) and it was on a load they had pull through McCoy Trucking and the idiots got upset because I wasn't stupid enough to pay them the freight bill without holding the claim amount. Anyone in trucking knows if you get a claim on a load, the shipper, broker, or receiver whom ever responsible for the pay out is gonna hold that amount back. These crooks are upset because they wasn't able to take advantage on me, nor my company as they thought like they did their drivers. Steven Camastra is a BIG LIAR as well as his 2 sidekicks, they TOOK those drivers hard earned money and DID NOT PAY those guys. They're just straight CONS. Now I know why Steven Camastra can only eat nuts..... Never trust a SQUIRREL, he's always looking at somebody else tree!!! Oh yeah Steven, if you're not trying to pull reefer freight why are you still calling some of my contacts, though I already know the don't load ROOKIES!!!

Firstly, I would like to point out that the Ripoff Report is a site that allows people to post anonymous and defamatory claims about a company while requiring no burden of proof on the part of the accuser. Even if this claim is proven to be false in the court of law, Ripoff Report will not remove the claim from their site.

Therefore, I have no choice but to respond to this claim through this forum. Simply to set the record straight. Capone Trucking, Inc. has proof that the above claim is false, anyone who cares enough need only ask and the proof will be supplied. We have nothing to hide.

All affected drivers (Franklin, Ernie, and Jimmy) were experienced in refrigerated freight, they were unfortunately let go because the Company discontinued its refrigerated freight division. The company ensured that all divers had the ability to get home safely. Ernie and Jimmy were both driven home personally by the owner (Owner drove 2.5 hours to help Ernie), while Franklin was given $400 to drive his pickup truck home to Virginia. All drivers were paid for the miles they earned, minus standard deductions including salary advances and an overweight ticket penalty for Jimmy. The only driver that did not receive compensation for his last week was Ernie. Due to his negligence and missing paperwork, his final load cost the company in excess of $4,500, combine that with the $600 he personally owed the owner (personal reasons) and the $415.15 held from his final paycheck seems reasonable.

As for dispatch, Lefonza McCoy (the poster of this claim), was one of the driving forces behind the company’s decision to get out of the Reefer business. Throughout the few months he was with the company, we found him to be untrustworthy and unethical. He participated in such practices including double brokering, brokering without a license, and filing false insurance claims. All this within 3 months. The company had no choice but to let him go. All you need to do is look up his criminal record and you will see all 18 of the arrests that a preliminary background check will provide. I am sure if you dig deeper, you will find a lot more. Lefonza was the sole reason we were forced to move out of the office seemingly so abruptly (it was planned) due to fear that he would attempt to harm the company and its equipment. Lefonza posting on Ripoff Report is evidence that this is precisely what he would have done. However, in spite of all this, Lefonza McCoy was fairly compensated until the end of his employment. He was let go on 1/23/2015 and his final paycheck was direct deposited into his account on that same day.

It is clear that the author of the above Rebuttal is upset about the content that the original Report Author wrote about them and seemingly wants to blame Ripoff Report for providing a forum where people can come and openly comment about their experiences.  Again, we encourage people to stick to the facts and write calmly worded accounts of the situation.  Further, it’s absurd to propose that Ripoff Report, which is an open and interactive website, should not be available for people to make comments without fact checking every single statement of fact posted.  With that kind of rationale, one could kiss the internet goodbye.  Do you think that Facebook or Twitter or any other mainstream interactive websites, including news blogs, would exist if you told the users that no one could post any comments about anyone, or anything without first fact checking everyone’s comments?  Of course not!  To require such action would be to stifle the freedom of speech and the free exchange of information and ideas.  Ripoff Report is “for consumers, by consumers” and, in fact, our Terms of Service say, at paragraph 3, “Opinions, advice, statements, offers or other information or content made available through ROR are those of their respective authors and not of [Ripoff Report] and should not necessarily be relied upon.  Such authors are solely responsible for the accuracy of such content.  [Ripoff Report] does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on ROR and neither adopts nor endorses nor is responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any opinion, advice or statement made.”  Ripoff Report does not hold out that any information posted by users of the website is accurate or necessarily reliable.  We encourage people to conduct thorough research, through more than one forum/medium, before making final decisions about an particular individual or business.  After all, no business can please 100% of their customers 100% of the time.  Sometimes there are miscommunications.  Sometimes a business’s staff member is having a bad day.  Sometimes the customer is having a bad day.  Warranted or not…all businesses get complaints.  We believe it’s how businesses take care of the complaints that separates good businesses from the rest.

The above Rebuttal author had the opportunity to write a calmly worded Rebuttal to explain their position regarding the Report at issue.  They did so, in part – but then chose to lash out at Ripoff Report for merely offering an open forum for free speech and not posting contact information of posters up front.  Well, to do so would necessarily defy free speech and the right to remain anonymous and potentially subject  victims to bullying and harassment or other retaliation by the individual or business that was complained about.  As you can see, Ripoff Report itself falls prey to critics and FALSE INFORMATION…even on our own website and other places on the internet.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT RE: COURT ORDERS:  Those who use the site affirm, before posting, that the information is truthful and accurate.  The author is the one who assumes liability for posting information, if, in fact, what they say is false.  If the information posted about and individual and/or business is false, there may be legal remedies available that result in specific Court Orders.  Contrary to the Rebuttal Author’s false assertions, Ripoff Report will redact information that a court of law has found, based on the merits of a fully heard case, to be false and defamatory.

The law protects and encourages Ripoff Report to make appropriate edits to Reports posted by third parties. Ripoff Report may use that editorial power to post findings from a court of law about the subject matter of Reports. In some cases, a Court may find that specific statements made by the author of a Ripoff Report are false and defamatory.  When both sides of a dispute appear and contest the facts of a situation in court it is believed that the findings of the court are generally reliable and fair. Out of respect for the courts and the judicial process, Ripoff Report, upon request, may post that kind of finding with special prominence.  In some cases, Ripoff Report may even redact the information specifically identified by the court as false from the original Report. Consumers – if a business reaches out to you to try and resolve a problem, whether it be through postings on our website or other avenues, we encourage you to work with the business and work through the situation with fairness in mind.  Sometimes a resolution just cannot be reached and each party is entitled to his/her opinion about the situation.  We don’t condone businesses trying to take advantage of consumers – that’s why our website was started in the first place.  At the same time, we don’t condone consumers, other business competitors, or disgruntled ex-employees or partners trying to take advantage of businesses either.  To all parties:  Keep it calm.  Keep it honest.  Keep it fair. Do your research.  Don’t be the kid that gets caught copying test answers from your neighbor who actually has the worst grades in class.  Make appropriate educated decisions based on the most reliable, up to date and current information available.
