Captial One, Captial One Penalized for early payment Salt Lake City Utah
I was leaving the country and mailed in my March 2007 payment before I left. The payment posted a few days too early and was posted in my February 2007 cycle. When I received my March statement, I caught the error and called in. I was treated like I had not made a payment, instead of having been responsible and mailed a payment in early. Eventually the late fee was taken off and I was assured there would be no further issue.
My April 2007 payment arrived and I was once again assessed late fees and received notice that I was a payment behind, even though my April 2007 payment had posted to my account. I called again and was told I still needed to make an extra payment because I hadn't paid for March. I explained what had happened, and was told I still had to make an extra payment to bring the account current. I asked to speak to a manager and told I was speaking to a manager. I asked why I was being punished for being responsible, and got a huge sigh from the "manager" and was told, 'it's all computerized, we can't help you.' I cancelled my account, and eventually the rep agreed to remove the late fees and over the limit fee that had posted as a result of the late fee posted, but I still have to make a double payment for this month.
