The truck I bought from Car Hop started to fall apart on me, on the freeway, after I had it only a bit over 5 weeks. Here is whats wrong with it:

Rack and Pinion

Ball joints

Wheel Bearings/Hub

Passenger side Wheel bearings/hub

Power Steering lines

Brakes are gone

Master Cylinder

Front Pads

Rotors

Brakes Hardware

I was darn lucky I did not kill myself or some one else.To make a long story short.I been fighting for almost 2 month now with these people and UAC. The truck is at a UAC approved shop.Nothing has been done yet . Every time I call I get "I look into it and call you back. All I ever hear from them is demands for money.I told them I will resume payment, when the truck is fixed. No one from UAC ever called or emailed me with what I need to do to get this done.I requested my account manager to reply to my emails numerous times..nothing.I cant even get to her by phone.now they threaten to take me to collection..I stopped payment on the wreck for one month now.I pay 388.00 a month for a 2000.00 dollar truck that I don't have because its at a UAC APPROVED SHOP.I already sent a complaint to the Attorney General against Car Hop. And her is the "best" thing..I was told by UAC that I'm liable for the 11000.00 loan even if I return the Truck..What loan???I don't have either Truck nor money!I keep emailing them and still no answer.

UAC is more than just the FInance company for Carhop

I am a current UAC customer.

believe it or not UAC is more than just the finance company. The CarHop employees are nothing but data entry operators. They are not salesmen because you have no choice in what car you get. UAC decides that. Carhop does not backup the warranty, UAC does. The bottom line you can get financing for a "very" used car for triple what the car is worth. The warranty supposedly covers the drivetrain, which is usually not going to help you since they sell cars with bad bakes, bad tires, engine and transmission problems. I have a few friends that have also bought cars for them. And usually the cars are POS. Mine definately is. But i have to say with the exception "Jessica" I have had really good customer service with UAC. They have been understanding when financial problems and when the POS car i have caused me issues they helped by being flexible on my payments when I needed new brakes, new battery, fuel pump, new tires. I have been keeping up on the normal maintenance as much as possible so its not so bad now. I do not recommend Carhop due to the crappy POS cars they have available. Its not a good financial deal, but if you are desperate... Super High interest rate and way overpriced piece of crap cars.  But I do have to say I have had good customer service with UAC under the circumstances.

I have been trying to get things settled for almost 2 month and all of a sudden, after I file reports with the AG office and post online, everybody contacts me..And once again I'm being told theyre working on it.Now you want to help, after I had already been told by the Office manager they cant do anything without UAC approval. There is only one Car Hop in Tacoma Wa and at this time only one person raising hell about a Doge Dacota Sport truck.

I am 65 years old and I'm tired of going around in circles. All I wanted was that truck fixed or put in another car that was safe to drive..no matter,I should have checked with the BBB first, but desperate people do stupid things some times.

I could almost belief this is true ,except for the fact that the dealer can not do anything without UAC approval..not repair theTruck, put me in another car or anything and funny how warranty and payments go through the same people..no matter what number you dial for them..its all the same..hmmm food for thought? over 340 complaints against Car Hop/UAC at the BBB?

You bought the car from this dealer, "Car Hop".  The loan company, UAC financed the car for you and paid the dealer for the car.  UAC does not own the dealer and ONLY supplies financing for the dealer's customers.  Whatever problems you have with the car is a matter between you and the dealer.  The lender has NOTHING to do with that.  The lender doesn't care if you drive the car or park it.

They paid the dealer in your behalf and all they care about is you paying them back with each and every payment paid on time, every time.  Failure to make the payments turns on the collections efforts and could end up in a repo.  If that happens, the car is sold at auction and whatever they get for it is subtracted from the contract amount and you are on the hook for the difference.  This is standard procedure and is not illegal, immoral or unethical.  Just in case you don't like what I said to you, don't waste the effort telling me "you must work for them", because I don't!
