Seriously?  What warranty?  And why didn't I find out all this crap about this company before I got my lemon...

So, here goes... In August/September of 08 I purchased a 1996 Plymouth Voyager Van from these guys as I was pregnant and we were in DESPERATE need of a vehicle for our growing family.  We drove off the lot and noticed problems right away on the 1 hour trip home (we live ON Fort Riley).  We however, were assured that we had a warranty and therefore went with that.

IN April/May of 09 this van went in to find out that not all cylinders were firing... in short, engine repair was needed.  We took it into the shop and I didn't get it out until 6 weeks later...  While in the shop the owner recieved an engine...put it in...went to crank... and walla!  No engine running.  Called to inform the "warranty" company (and I use the term loosely) and they say... no prob, sending another one.  Second one gets there weeks later... gets put in and Walt at the shop says that this one is "crappy" (cleaned up for net...lol) and has a knocking.  Claims it could be a valve and that he has told the warranty company such.

Well, we drive off the lot and then take a trip... van dies in Georgia... Well, it gets fixed due to good Christian people... but still knocking.  Get home and WALLA!  The transmission goes out.  Well, back to shop.  Just not to the same one as Walt at the other won't touch it no more as Carhop Warranty has failed to pay them for the previous repairs (as of date... they have FINALLY been paid) and this wasn't the first time they had a prob... (he knew I was from carhop when I took the van in... now that is PITIFUL!)...

Well, different shop... transmission gets fixed.  Mechanic notices knocking... INFORMS Carhop of the fact that this engine won't last...  Okay.... fast forward.

NOW... Engine is again failing and stalling out.  Knocking has finally gotten WORSE and needs a new engine AGAIN.  Called warranty company to understand HOW they could have been told of the problem and decided to IGNORE KNOWING it would go out and they did not FIX the flippin problem.  They inform me that I am no longer under warranty and they did what they were supposed... AND SURPRISE!!! NO NOTE OF MECHANICS TELLING THEM OF FAULTY ENGINE... Seriously?  As if you would make a note of something that could come back and bite you in the rear end...

If anyone knows of a class action suit of ANY Kind I would love to know.  As of now, I do have their legal departments "address" and am contacting JAG lawyers this week.

I really wish I had known of this pitiful, downright dirty dealings within this company.  I cannot believe that they are claiming they have an A rating in BBB... OH... ANd just so you know... the warranty company doesn't... the actual sales company does.  AND although they are not different... they are listed as such.

Thanks for allowing me to vent.  :)

LOL...  So, same old company line.  Thank you very much but the warranty is the problem.  How can you get away with putting FAULTY parts in a vehicle... being told by the garages (and yes that is multiple) that the part you "fixed" is bad and is only a matter of time before it fails again... and REFUSING to make it right?

A warranty is SUPPOSED to fix the problem... not just "quiet" it until the warranty conveniently runs out.

And as for the BBB... I wouldn't stand by that rating either.  YOUR employess and salesmen have earned that rating as they are good people that are just blinded to the audacity and ignorance of their warranty company.  If you BBB the warranty company... things aren't so pretty.  At least they weren't the last time I looked.  And have no fear... this will be reported to them as well.

Thank you.

Again, if anyone knows of a class actions suit against the company, please do let me know.

Although it is unfortunate when any customer has mechanical issues, unforeseen problems do sometimes occur with used vehicles.  To best assist our customers, every vehicle purchased includes a 72 hour Satisfaction Guarantee which allows a vehicle to be returned within 72 hours if our customer is not satisfied.  In addition, each vehicle includes an 18 month / 18,000 limited warranty.  Since this is a limited warranty, the covered items are clearly listed in the paperwork each customer reviews and signs with their approval prior to purchase.  We would happily cover any items included in the warranty.

You can reach us at feedback@carhop.com or toll free at 1-888-826-4227 for direct assistance.  We take customer service very seriously and would like to learn more about your situation.  CarHop has a long-standing strong rating with the Better Business Bureau and we are committed to continuing that level of excellence.
