I made a payment to Car Hub Japan on March 14, 2019 for a car with very clear specifications of the unit as per the invoice they had sent me and we had agreed on, and got the confirmation from the firm of the receipt of the payment.

On March 30, 2019 after enquiring I was told that the unit which I had paid for under the offer was rejected at the QISJ inspection. Which to the best of my knowledge is a lie. There is no such thing. The firm has not provided me with evidence that proves otherwise, which would be the case. That particular agent promised to get back to me by April 1, 2019, he never did.

On April 2, 2019 I received a call from another agent who told me that he was re-assigned to my account. This agent told me there was a unit available and he would give me the information of the unit and pictures on WhatsApp. Which he did, the only challenge was that the unit he was offering me didn’t any way or form match to the specifications that I had in the initial agreement. What ensued the rest of the day was an argument about the unit and he was even intimidating to confirm the unit so that they can ship it. I refused to confirm the unit and specifically asked for the chassis number which he never gave me.

On April 3, 2019 I had another session of arguments on WhatsApp and I clearly told him that whatever unit information and pictures he had sent me were nowhere close to my initial agreement that I bargained for, he didn’t not seem to want to understand what I had repeated to him multiple times. Eventually, he told me he understood the specifications of the unit I wanted, he told me that he would consult with his manager and get back to me. He has never given me any answer since then.

I have expressly told this particular agent to either ship to me a unit with similar specifications to what I had agreed with the firm or give me back my money. Besides, I don’t understand why the firm doesn’t furnish me with specific information that I keep requesting for, for example, the chassis number of the unit they want me to confirm for shipment.

Is it that they’re trying to sell to me a non existent unit or are they trying to trick me into confirming a particular unit only to switch to another worse condition unit? That I don’t know. But what I know is that, if the firm claims to be as transparent and reputable as it does, then why are they not forthcoming about providing all this information freely. It raises a lot of red flags.

Up to this date they have not gotten me a unit or furnished me with sufficient information or refunded my money.     

I’m just wondering whether Car Hub Japan took my money and ran for the hills? If that is not the case then they should resolve my case very easily because it’s straight forward.

They informed me that they’ll give a full refund, but it has not happened. I’ve reached out to them and gotten no response.

Or are they planning to drag this one out on me until I give up, I don’t know whether this is the way a reputable firm does business.

A third agent from Car Hub Japan called me on April 9, 2019 and had a lengthy conversation, and the agreement was that the firm was going to give me a refund of my money after filling out the required form. The form was sent to me and I filled it out on April 11, 2019. This agent informed me that my “refund has been processed” and I would the money in my account in 7 to 10 days’ time. That didn’t happen.

I enquired with the same agent on April 20, 2019 on getting my refund and was informed that my “refund is already under process” and I would get it on April 24, 2019. For the second time, that didn’t happen.

On April 25, 2019 once again I raised the query with the same agent and the feedback was that my refund would be in my bank account by May 10, 2019. For the third time, this has not happened. In fact the agent stopped short of blaming me for not getting my refund.

All along, I have gotten a list of excuses which are illogical and juvenile on the reasons I can’t get my refund and it’s now one month since I was informed that my refund would only take 7 to 10 days. Simply put, the firm has nothing to show for.

I’m just wondering whether Car Hub Japan is planning to continue giving me these excuses or transfer me to a fourth agent and start all over again, because they seem to have this cavalier corporate culture when dealing with customers. 

Actions speak louder than words, it’s time the firm refunded me my money and stopped giving me more mind boggling excuses.
