Car-Mart ripoff, will not live up to warranty West Memphis Arkansas
My sister recently bought a Dodge Avenger from Car-Mart. She got the 40,000 mile warranty. All was good until one day one of the spark plugs blew out. She took it to them and they put heli coils in it. Anyone who knows anything about cars know that will not work.
When it happened again she took the car to them and they plugged it into a diognostic machine. I don't know why they did that because it is totally irrelavent to the problem at hand. Oh yea, I do know. It was because they charged her 45 dollars to do it.
So far they have been very rude and unhelpful. The people who work there have no business doing so. Im sure they are just waiting for the warranty to run out. Do not buy a car from Car-Mart!

Zach, I am very sorry your sister is having problems with her vehicle. I hope she has found an avenue to resolve her problem. I have to correct a few things you mention in your report: first we offer a 4 month, 4000 mile service contract that covers the power train. I am unclear how the spark plug "blew out" and don't know what heli coils are, but I can tell you the service contract does not cover ignition items such as spark plugs or coils. The mere fact that they did something to try and help is evidence that car-mart is trying to help customers. From what you are saying it sounds like the car experienced a misfire on one of the cylinders which would cause it to run rough. It sounds like the plug could have been fouled or bad, and that car-mart may have replaced the coil pack to try to remedy the problem. When the problem reoccurred, it sounds like they subcontracted a shop which charged a diagnostic fee of 45 dollars to find out what the stored codes listed as the problem and the fee was in turn passed on to her.
There are numerous avenues to try and get your problems resolved. You may try and talk with the store general manager. He or she is able to remedy the problem in most instances. If still unsatisfied, our customers may pursue satisfaction by contacting the customer hot-line by calling the toll free number displayed at the payment window or by going on-line at car-mart.com Thanks for your input.
