Complaint Review: CAR MAX

I purchased a used Kia Sportage from CarMax in Pompano Beach. The sales people were professional and fine, although they misrepresented their claims of not selling cars that had been in accidents.

7 months after purchasing the car (and keeping it up at the local Kia dealership) I noticed a paint defect on the rear bumper...it seemed that the paint was bubbling up. It was after a heavy rain, i thought it was a rain puddle, went to wipe it off and the paint cracked.

I brought it to the Kia dealer, where they said it would be covered under the paint warrantee. When the body shop started the repair, they uncovered massive bondo stuffed into a very damaged bumper that should have been replaced. It wasn't the work was shoddy and resulted in the paint lifting.

I contacted Car Max, got shuffled from one idiot to another and up the line it went to the Senior Operations Manager who for 2 days did not return calls. It was only when the corporate office was called that he did return the call....and then with the most arrogant and obstinate attitude. In the end...."we're not going to do anything about it"

I called the corporate offices in Richmond Virginia....and the bottom line...they aren't going to do anything about it either.

The repair (new bumper and paint job) is costing me $700 out of pocket.

DO NOT BUY FROM CAR MAX....shady stereotypical used car snakes.

Not a happy customer....actually never a customer of them again.
