Car Smart Kansas City Liars, pushy and rude Kansas City Missouri
I filled out an online application with CarSmart a couple of days ago because I needed to get a car as my daughter and I are currently working with just one car at the moment. "Cheryl" promptly sent me an email asking for more info so that she could send it to their lenders to get me approved for financing and get the $8 down deal. She said I was approved so we scheduled an appointment for today (10/15/15),
My daughter and I went into the northland location today (for our appointment) and asked to see "Cheryl". We were told she was moving cars at that time and they had "Butch" help us. We sat down with him and got the process started. They said they couldn't finance me without someone else being on the loan. We decided to put my daughter on the loan also and gave them her info. They came back saying that they could only get her financed thru their first time buyer's program. We told them that we didn't have any money to put down but they insisted that we would have to put $500 down. "Mike" in financing was very pushy and rude and kept calling me "sweetheart" and telling me that I needed to help them so the could help us!!1 Next thing we knew, "Butch" was moving a car so that we could take a test drive. We took the test drive and "Brian" (who also works with the lenders) said they would work with us putting the $500 down. I told them that we wanted to put the tax, title and license into the loan so we wouldn't have to come out of our pocket for that (we don't have that much money just sitting around) and he said they wouldn't be able to help us there...that was on us as they had already gotten us a "good deal". We waited for "Butch" to come back into the building so that we could tell him that we wouldn't be taking the car after all and he told us to hold on. He came back and then "Mike" sat down between my daughter and I and proceeded to tell us that they were already helping us by putting our first payment off for 45 days and how much more did we want. I told him to stop and that he was very pushy and rude and we left right then and there.
I know for a fact that you can get the tax, title and license fees financed in Missouri and they made it seem that we were the bad people for asking to be able to do this.
They lied to me about actually being approved and only having to pay $8 down. They are very pushy and rude like they are the ones doing you the favor. The entire time that we were there, I never say "Cheryl" come into the building.
Do not shop there!!!!! They say that they can get anyone financed and they can't/wont!!!!!!

It's not about the credit, but the actions of dealer

While everyone is blaming this man for his poor or bad credit, the fact is that this dealership used a fraudulent reason to get him down to the lot. I bought a car from them and my credit is not that bad (650+) when I bought my car. When I got down there, I needed my husband to co-sign due to how long I had been employed.
This dealership is and has many instances of fraud, misrepresentation and lying to customers to get them down there. Right now I am about to file a lawsuit due to carsmart not honoring the warranty we paid for. So, before anyone slams this man about anything just read the facts and only the facts.
They liked to him about being approved, they never ran his credit and then lied when they actually did run his credit. This is blatantly fraud and misrepresentation, false advertising and violation of Missouri consumer protection laws. I live in Missouri, I have read all the laws. These people are not to be trusted.
Thanks d**k Smith Ford!

I'm happy to say that d**k Smith Ford approved us for a brand new 2016 car at their dealership yesterday with a better loan rate and lower payment than crappy Car Smart. We will be going by Car Smart to show them the business they lost with us!!!

Whose fault is it that you did not qualify?

It is foolish to apply for financing before test-driving, selecting and negotiating the price of a vehicle.
“They are very pushy and rude like they are the ones doing you the favor.”
Aggressive salesmanship is nothing new.
“They say that they can get anyone financed and they can't/wont”
Their website states: Too much negative equity and/or credit scores below 690 may affect the amount of cash down required for bank approval.
Whose fault is it that you did not qualify?
“I suggest you keep your mouth shut in matters you know nothing about!”
I suggest you change your financial habits and save enough money to afford the down payment on a car.
Get a clue!

Jim...you don't know me or my situation and have no idea what you're talking about. You weren't there. We had already worked out a deal to pay the down payment and they had found my daughter a very good deal (8% interest on a loan) with payments less than $300. I know for a fact that the tax, title and license fees can be rolled into the loan so they were lying when they said it couldn't. They also lied to get us into the dealership saying I was already pre-approved when I wasn't. I suggest you keep your mouth shut in matters you know nothing about!

You attempted to do this deal with your self created garbage credit and you couldn't even afford the down payment. They tried to work something out with your credit reputatation, nobody wanted to take a chance on you. Their job is to sell cars and find financing for people. Perhaps if you would have paid your bills in the past, this wouldn't of happened.
Let me save you the time and effort...don't bother writing back claiming, "You must work for them!", because I don't!
