Car Zone should be JUNK ZONE, Dover Delaware
I purchased a 2009 Chrysler 300. They gave me a CarFax report, it didn't show any major concerns except that an airbag needed to be replaced, under warranty from Chrysler. Told me it only had one owner. I found out later that it actually had 3 previous owners, including use as a company car with several drivers.
I decided to get a more detailed report from CarFax and found out that the car was also involved in an accident. 6 months after purchase the engine blew. I called the extended warranty company. They told my mechanic the engine needed to be broken down for inspection. An unnecessary $1800.00 job. After that, the warranty company said not covered because the car had the wrong antifreeze in it.
I had no way of proving that it was the same antifreeze that was in the car the day of purchase. Now, not only do I have to pay the $1800.00, it cost me another $5000.00 for a new engine. 9 months after purchase, the brakes went. $2300.00 for new master cylinder, brake lines, rotors and pads. 9 months after purchase, replaced.
I paid the car off after 20 months because they were charging me 23% interest, figuring I would save a little paying off 4 years early. Didn't read the fine print that said no breaks for early payment. They didn't take off a dime! At 26 months I now have to replace the shocks, struts, upper and lower ball joints and the differential needs servicing. So much for certified 150 point safety and mechanical check list.
