We purchased a $3,500 reverse osmosis water softener unit from Cardinal Aqua Pure in 2003. This company is owned by David M. Grant. We faithfully paid him $200 plus a year to come out, inspect, change filters and prevent trouble. This past year, this company called us again for service, misrepresented that if we didn't get our service done that we would "invalidate our warranty."  This was a bold-faced lie as we are no longer under warranty 7 years later. However, we paid the money  (with difficulty due to underemployment problems) and Mr. Grant's technician came out to do the service.  6 weeks later, our unit sprang a leak and started to flood our garage. Cardinal (Mr. Grant) said that it is "not their responsibility as it was past 30 days since they did the service. He sent the same technician out who charged us $59 and took a picture of the unit. We then heard nothing for almost a month and a half. Meanwhile our unit is turned off to avoid flooding our garage and our water is so hard it almost has rocks coming out of it. It's rusty and is etching my kitchenware, glasses, tub, sinks, etc. Our skin is dry and itchy. We called Mr. Grant back rather angry and he said that the part was ordered and would be in soon so they could replace it. Then we again heard nothing for over a week. We called him again and he said they "ordered the wrong part and the new part would cost us over $100 plus his $59 service call!"  Now it has been over another week and we have heard nothing. We have had it with this company and this man and will seek redress however we can. Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this company or David Grant! RIP-OFF is putting it mildly. We are only sorry that we didn't know this from the start.
