I was scammed through a healthcare center. They were working with them, so I had no other choice but signing the contract. Little I knew the greatest nightmare I was about to experience.

First, Care Credit/GEMB wouldn't let you change your due dates, as you could do it with other credit card, even insurance, companies. I was facing the consequences of my financial naivety. They charged me late fees, even if I paid on time or earlier. Also they encouraged me to sign in for paperless statements, which I did, but all was a lie: They still sent me paper statements against my will. I repeatedly complained about all above mentioned and one of the answers I got was: "You'd better spend your money better, ma'am". They are rude all the time, specially their Mexican agents (all Spanish-speaking agents are from Mexico).

I made a complaint with BBB against them, they rebutted but finally there wasn't any solution to my complaint. They only closed my account, as asked by me. But still had to pay.

Also, they harass you on the phone all the time, even if you ask them to not call you, and use a private number so you won't identify where calls come from, and they don't identify themselves at the time you pick up the phone.

That wasn't all. The only e-mail I ever received from them was a threat like this:

If we do not receive a payment of $XXX.XX by your due date your account will charge off. This will result in one of the following actions:
We may file a lawsuit against you.
If we retain an attorney, you may be liable for additional fees if permitted under your state law.
Your account may be placed with a collection agency or sold to a third party for possible collection.
You will be reported to the major credit reporting agencies.
To avoid these actions you must do one of the following:
Click to pay online.
Call 1-800-399-5166 to discuss your account with an account specialist.
We can help! There may be other options for you to avoid charge off.

Sincerely,

GE Money Bank
Collections Department

I called them back and they "offered" me an alternative solution for paying my debt off, but first I must pay before even receiving any information about what that alternative solution was. I asked them to send me all info about their plan, but they still refused, because they wanted me to PAY FIRST. I told them I couldn't pay anything since I lost my job. They answered that was none of their business and still insisted. Also when I accessed my account online I choose the option "I can't pay because I don't have a job" or something like that. GEMB still harasses me and want me to pay that debt.

Now my account has been sent to Collections and they still don't understand that I can't pay because I don't have a job, and all my little money would only go paying fees and financial charges, but not the debt off.

I have a student loan that is in forbearance right now, and also I was paying a credit card. At least they understand me better and don't charge me so exorbitantly; most of all, they wouldn't treat me so abusively. I'm glad that I'm not the only one suffering from these scammers. I hope some federal agency will bat for me.
