I too got into debt problems after loosing my pay. I tried to handle the debt myself but was unable to stay on top. I contacted Care One Credit even before I was 30 days late with any of my creditors. But I knew I was going to soon be getting behind.

They explained my 2 options to me and since I was trying to lower my monthly payments I chose the debt resolution plan. I still thought they would send monthly payments to my creditors just at a reduced amount and that would stop the over the limit fee and late fees.
Here I am almost 2 months into the plan and I have figured out all that I was told was not true.

I called today because my creditors are still calling me and they state they have not received a settlement letter from the company. Well when I called I was told it could be anywhere around 8 - 10 months before any payments are made. They don't make monthly payments they try to get the creditor to settle for less then what I owe and make one whole payment to them, but I first have to get money in my escrow account before this can be done. They also deduct monthly legal fees from my monthly payment so that reduces what is put into my "escrow account".

am glad I have found this out now. I will try to work with my creditors myself and the $211 I was paying to Care One Credit I can send to one creditor and get them paid off.

They Disclose This Before You Agree

As a customer of Care One Credit, I can tell you that they do inform you of this before you sign up.  I signed up for the Settlement Option and was fully informed where the money was going, how much was going where, when negotiations would begin and that a negotiation cannot begin unless there is enough money in my account to make a settlement offer.  It's all common sense.  You can't expect miracle to happen.  We got ourselves into thai mess.  It's not going to clean itself up. You need to ask questions, too.  Sometimes, the representatives forget to tell you things.  Good Luck.

DO pay attention!

You were told that your creditors would likely INCREASE their collection efforts when you started the Debt Resolution (now called Debt Settlement Representation) program, due to the fact that those debtors will not be receiving any payments on those debts until enough money has built up in your attorney trust account to be able to make a settlement offer. You were never told that any monthly payments would be made until that time. I am sure that the fee structure was completely explained to you. I am sorry that you are disappointed in how the program has performed. It appears that you did not pay attention to the details when they were explained to you.

Care Credit?

If you dont care about your credit why would anyone else? If you are going to pay someone to pay your debts for you, that explains why you are in this position to begin with. Listen

1. If you want the calls to stop, pay your bills.
2. If you want to stop the bills, pay cash.
3. If you cant afford to pay cash, ask yourself do you really need it?

I was really nervous at first but everyone I talked to at Care One and Persels explained everything down to the details. I know ther are 2 porgrams Debt Management and Debt settlement. I was on the Debt management plan for two months and all of the payments went to all of the CC compaines I had listed with them. All of my CC accepted the plan that was set forth. I cannot however afford the monthly payment now have switched over to the settlement with Persels. They explained everyrthing and I also researched all of this beforehand so I knew what I was getting into. I realize this may be a frustrating time but maybe you should have listened.

Just listen to what they tell you

I am a customer of Care One Credit Solutions. They make it a point to tell you that your monthly payments will NOT be made and that there will be a fee taken out of your payment for the first few months(depends on your program). I'm not sure if this person just wasn't listening to what they had to say, because they tell you more than once that they don't make monthly payments and that your credit score will be negatively affected. I spent almost an hour on the phone with my consultant before I even started the program. If you do a little research on the website(it doesn't take much) it tells you all of this plain as day. Like I said I'm not sure why this person is so upset, it is all right out there for you to read.
