Complaint Review: CARE TEMP LLC

CARE TEMP LLC, of Toms River, New Jersey Did not repair my A.C. after 2 visits,major leak on inside floor.told them still leaking, they said turn off unit,it was 94degrees outside&we are over 65,and on Bloodpressure meds.tol them we would ca Terrible Service on my Air Conditioner,this company does not care about their customers, or the service they provide to them Whiting, New Jersey

I want to report this company because, I was ripped off, -of money & services. I am a retired person, and live in an adult community. Several years go,I took out a loan so I could purchase a new air conditioner for my home(in an adult community) my old one was 30 yrs. old and not energy effecient--and we are total electric..  I contacted Care Temp, of Toms River, because they were in our approved contractor book. I had them instasll a 2 1/2 ton Trane air conditioner,which cost me over $5,000. because i had them replace all of the old ducts, drain pans, drain/run-off pipes, etc. I purchased it in 2003. Well on 8/10/09 the air-handler (which is located in the attic) started leaking water all over my wood floor, I needed two large pots to catch the water. I called Care Temp-=their emergency phone number. They said they would be here within 4 hours, a very big guy arrive here at 4:30 PM,  he walked in dropped down the ac filter and said"oh, i see it from here, a cracked drain pipe"   I don't know how he could even see it from where he stood, becuse actually all you can see from looking up at that location, is a box that frames the air conditioner handler. I said=Ok, and he proceeded to go into the attic. He said he replaced the pipe and we should be fine.. I was so happy, and paid him $164.78, which covered the $80.00 service call & parts... 

All was good for 2 hours, then it started leaking water all over my floor again. I called their emergency phone number again, and the girl said someone would be here within 4-hours.. So at 8 PM, a different service tech arrived, he went into the attic and said the pan under the AC, handler was full of water. Seemed that the 1st. guy just replaced the so-called cracked pipe and left the water in nthe pan, and it was overflowing. It was not going into the drain pipes on the air conditioner, just collecting in the pan. So, at this point the 2nd guy used my husbands wet vac and removed the water. He said that we would eventualy need to have the handler, re-positioned. He also said that the water in the pan was from excess humidity & sweat... He said to call the company back in several days and request them to come here and re-position the air handler. He assured us that we would be ok till then.

 Well for that evening we were ok. But the next day, it was dripping water all over the floor again, it was a continuous drip.  So, once again I called Care Temp, and the girl seemed upset that we were calling again  =for the 3rd time. She said that they had NO-ONE available to come to our home to service it. She also mentioned that it would require two guys to do the repair work of re-positioning the air handler unit. And then she said that we would have to wait TWO days until they could get here. So I asked what did she think we should do, and she said "turn the Air conditioner OFF.."

 Now, I was really upset, because me and my husband are on Blood pressure medication and we are both over 65 years of age. PLUS the temp on that day was over 95 degrees. We could not have handled turning off the air conditioner.  I told her -well we cannot wait that long, and that we would need to get another company here to fix the air conditioner. She seemed very arrogant and said = well whatever you want to do is fine...  She didn't care about us as customers. What a terrible peron she seemed to be and what a terrible representative of customer service. I wonder how many customers they loose because of situations like this. I just anted to vent/report this situation so that others are not treated like we were.

So we did call another company =One Hour ,Heating & Air Conditioning Service. They arrived here the same day, about 1 hour from when we called them. Their service tech was very professional, and knew exactly what was wrong.  He went into the attic,  lifted up the air-handler so that it as re-positioned, shimmed it up so that all the water would flow into the drain pipes. He also blew out the main drainpipe, that was clogged. He really knew what he was doing. Finally our problem was solved, and the air conditioner has been running great since that day 8/10/09.  I will also contact our office to let them know about Care Temp, and hopefully have them removed from our list of approved contractors..

Thank You, I just did not want any other seniors to be treated like this, and to have them spend the money they don't easily have available for shoddy work

if anyone has any problems or concerns they may call the office and speak to me directly Al Rogulski its a shame that the way to resolve problems is go on a website to bad mouth instead of call and resolve the situation as far as the person or people who personally defamed my company in regards to a personal situation my wifes car that was uncalled for and i m sure was done based on emotion not facts the number is 732 349 1448 732 577 8367 thank you

It doesn't shock me that this company is shady and incompetent. I met their owner today. One of the most obnoxious, pompous humans I've encountered in my life. Walked around announcing that he was "the owner of a million-dollar company" and proceeded to swear in front of children, make physical threats and create a huge scene in front of anyone who would pay him any mind. He continued his nonsense even after being asked to refrain from using foul language, and generally attempted to make himself out to be a VIP. No one was impressed, and when he walked away, the other customers in the area asked to see the business card he left behind. He probably won't be getting any business from them.

I'm sorry you got roped in by this company, but happy to see that you were able to hire a competent contractor to undo Care Temps (lol at that irony of that name) blunders. I hope that your community was quick to remove them from the recommended list. No one who behaves like that can be very reliable.

"He also blew out the main drainpipe, that was clogged."

  This was almost certainly the only problem.   If the unit really needed to be repositoned in order to direct the water to the drain, why didn't it overflow during the previous 5 summers?  This was nothing more than a simple clogged drain.   I'm amazed that it took 3 techs from 2 companies to figure this out.
