Complaint Review: Career Training Solutions

I found CTS on careerbuilder.com advertising telecommuting bookkeeping positions available. I investigated the company with the BBB of LA and found they had no complaints lodged against them.

After contacting CTS with specific questions and they answered to my satisfaction, I decided to enroll. I was told that my payments would be covering the class materials not the instruction, and that I would be receiving the class cds 7-10 days after enrollment. I never received my training materials after 18 weeks of classes.

Classes were scheduled to begin 6/7/03 and were postponed until 6/22/03. I had trouble reaching CTS during this time to find out why the classes weren't starting, but did finally receive an email specifing the new date of class.

CTS, in their job guarantee form, declared we would have at least one client within 10-90 days from graduating from the certification training. They had led me to believe, via their ad on careerbuilder, their website and the forms they sent me that they had many clients waiting for their students to graduate. This has turned out to be untrue. There were no clients.

After being in class for 18 weeks, jumping around from one web conference center to another, I made it to finals. I took one final and found out that CTS was no longer offering training. The students have since learned that there were no clients for us to be placed with.

Many students have been able to reverse the charges for the classes pending an investigation by their credit card companies, but the students who paid by check and were sent refund checks have said that their refund checks had bounced.

CTS has closed but has started operating under the following names; Placetrain.net, Certiplace.com, Business Services Solutions. The last two currently have ads on jobs.com under the name Business Services Solutions. These companies are all run by the same person.
