Complaint Review: Careful Cleaners LLC

I worked for Careful Cleaners as a seamstress at their Higley store and did the alterations for the main plant as well.

For reasons I did not know, the plant manager Mike McClanahan, would dock our checks almost every check they issued me. When I would complain, I was put off.

After almost 2 years of this, I quit and after the dust settled, I did an accounting and found out that he, Mike, has shorted me $5800.00. Again I were put off, was told we would sit down and go over everything. Did not happen.

So I took him, and the owner, Steven Emerson-Alt, to small claims court. Since I could only sue for $3500.00 in small chaims court, that is what I sued for.

Mike said he brought a check for $1.000.00 to court with him, which I never saw. After talking to the judge and Mike, I just wanted this whole mess over with so I agreed to split the differece and settled for half, $1,750.00. Mike said he would pay me promptly but would not give me the $1,000.00 check.

I started receiving $25.00 checks every month. Then I started receiving emails for Steven demanding that I settle for $1,000.00.

Now there has been a stop payment on one of those checks and it cost me an additional $12.00.
