Hired company to move then store a 1 + den apartment. Was quoted a price, given a contract via email, inclusive of insurance covered while my items were in storage.

Company was 7 hours late. Items promised such as inventory list, packing material, blankets, etc., were not brought when they finally showed up. We packed up and brought everything down to the truck ourselves. (2 people)

Once at truck, would not discount for late arrival, refused to sign inventory list I created as they promised the driver would have one upon arrival. He did not. (sub-contracted driver, as the original driver with the company quit mid-day we were told on the phone by Tanya)

Once items went to storage and were taken out 4 months later (promised in contract a private, temperature controlled unit) 60 % of my items were missing, inclusive of a brand new bed, stereo system, speakers, printer, fax and scanning machine. MIrrors, lamps, etc. Some jewelry, clothing and important keep sakes such as books and original screenplays and writing material.

Spoke with owner - Russ - drunk on the phone, said he was off duty and couldn't be bothered to find my items. Eventually found out from Russ there were no individual units, just one large warehouse. He said recently flooded, hydro shut off, etc. Was 'spilling' his guts and sad story to me of how hard it is to be in this industry and I should feel bad for him. A very odd individual, obviously not professional. Called police, they spoke to him, Russ told off the police. Police told me not to go down to the warehouse alone but also said it is a civil matter, they can't do anything.

Movers came back to tell me I could take or buy some of the stuff in the truck that was not mine to make up for the loss of my stuff. Someone else's' property. They asked me to come down to the loading dock alone and they'd show me around - this was at 11pm. As a female, alone, I did not do this.

Further bullied by Russ calling and saying he found it. Then he'd call back and say he didn't. This went on for over 3 weeks. He told me not to come to the warehouse. He often sounded drunk.

Insurance I signed up for from their company proved useless as they help my items hostage. He was paid at the front end. He said he didn't want my money at the back end for losing my stuff. A total of $600 dollars. The value of my items were between $6000-$7500. I was not working and at the time could not afford court fees and was getting very little help from laywers I spoke to about this problem and told me, lesson learned. I have moved 9 times in the city of Toronto. I know how to find movers, get them to review and estimate the move prior but I was taken advantage of by these crooks. If someone can help me, I would appreciate it.

Hi There,

I am so glad you wrote, I am in the same predicament or maybe worse.

I took a year off and had careful movers in toronto packed and moved my things into their long term storage.

I was in constant contact and was assured my things are inorderly.

I came home and contacted them wishing to see my things and make sure its well taken care off but they kept putting me away, asking me to call back. I kept calling back and its the same again and again. But I got hold of them.
Last week, I started to feel ill at ease and on last monday, called again and spoke to the same guy that I needed to see my things and again he asked me to call back.

I called back just this friday and low and behold, the number has a recorded message that said, "this number is not set for incoming calls". I called the telephone number on the site and it was the same.

Called the head office in BC and left a message. faxed them my complaints.

On their website, there were two addresses for Toronto, one in 1st canadian place and the other in scarborough. I went to both locations and lo and behold, there isn't any such office.

can you let me know where is the storage you went? I want to make sure I have the same address. if it is the same as what you posted, I was there.

I made a report to BBB and now here.

A friend made a research for me and realized many are in the same position as we are. I think we need to get together and make a police report and let the police know this is an on going company who is ripping and scheming others.

Thank you for posting. I do not have a solution as all my things are with them.
