I was in need of a vehicle to get back and forth to work, heard about Carhop and gave it a try. August 2013, I visited the lot in Vallejo, Ca-a 2 1/2 hour ordeal-and purchased an automobile. I test drove a 2001 Ford Ranger and all was well. I completed the drawn-out process of filling out the paperwork and watching the *** and unnecessary video. $800 down and payments of $169 bimonthly I drove away a happy camper...or so I thought.

I left the lot on my way to work in San Francisco and the car began sputtering, if you will, when i got on the freeway. It did if a couple times and stopped. So I thought maybe I was tripping but by the time I made it to Berkeley, about a 20-25 minute drive from Vallejo, the car slowed down completely from 65 to 20-while I was in the fast lane no less. I was able to exit the freeway safely and call Carhop to explain my issue.

Long story short, my transmission was completely gone so I had to locate on of their auto repair shops, and get the car there. The mechanic says he has to look at it and email UAC, wait for a response and approval to make the repairs and then they could begin the work. Needless to say, I WAS PISSED!! I not only gave them my HARD EARNED MONEY, now I was late for work and with no vehicle for an entire weekend...no loaners, no compensation, no adjustment in cost of car since obviously I was sold a car that didn't work, no nothing.

Before I left I explained that the check engine light was on, the oil gage keeps going crazy and ended up stuck and not working, along with a few other dash lights that had popped on due to the tranny going out. Two weeks later I finally got the car back, the oil gage still broken, check engine light was off and the car was drivable so I felt a little better but still felt extremely ripped off being that I was responsible for a lemon of a car that ended costing me total $18,900 after all was said and done.

I bought the car at 108,000 miles and currently it reads 180,000 so I have only driven 72,000 miles between 8/2013 and 7/2015...mind you, that for 9 months of that time-9/2014-6/2015, I didn't drive the car at all-I left it parked in front of my home. When I finally began driving the car again, i noticed the same problems from when i first got the car. I was driving and it seemed that out of nowhere the car would slow down to 20 mph and when I pressed the accelerator, I got nothing but a revving sound, depress the accelerator and the car picks up speed again. Last straw was on my way home from work one night, got about 15 miles away from home and car slowed down to 15 mph and thats how i crawled across the bridge and along the streets all the way home. Called UAC only to be told my warranty expired and they held no responsibility for repairs. Not only that but they had the nerve to repo my car a week later because I was a week late with my payment, although I had spoken with a rep and made arrangements. That was another $500 that I had to pay to get it back because they said it was parked in Oakland and it could get stolen...Hella racist statement!!!

I am sooo outdone with this company and would never recommend them to anyone, not even my worst enemy. I'm sitting here going crazy because repairs are gonna cost me about 3 grand, I still owe about 2500 on the car and I can't even drive the raggedy piece of s***. I'M DONE!!! They should not be able to prey on people who are struggling and working hard to take care of their families!!1 NOT ACCEPTABLE!
