Caribbean Cruise Line, Bahama Celebration Cruise Bahama Celebration Cruise Phone call-- Political Poll -- Rewrad -- a FREE Cruise to the Bahamas EXCEPT you have to give them your credit card and pay $59 per person taxes in advance New York, New York
After a phone call asking me to take a simple-minded political survey, I was told my reward would be a FREE cruise to the Bahamas, "Jessica" said that she represented "Caribbean Cruise Lines".She also stated that I had to pay a port tax & fee of $59.00 per person, $118.00 total to lock in the cruise and had to pay now or the deal was off. She wanted me to pay the $118.00 from a credit card. SHe said the cruise was good for 18 months -- but when I asked for a number to call back as I did not give my card out on the phone, she said the deal would be gone by the end of the year, in two days.
I said it sounded like a scam-- in fact, I was looking on the internet and it was listed as a scam. She said it was not, she had done this cruise herself. But she could not give a phone number to call back to confirm anything. I said goodbye, annoyed with myself for wasting the last 20 minutes.
Nearly the identical thing happened a couple of years ago and was described by this woman:

Can anyone verify this as a scam-- and why can't they be stopped.
The phone number she was calling from was: 310-362-7319
