Caribbean Freight, Inc. in the business of shipping crates, barrels to the caribbean. They trans-ship to a company in New York which does the final shipping.

I have had the experience where a barrel was picked up from my house for shipping along with all payments, with the understanding that it will arrive at its destination in four weeks. Six weeks later I called to enquire about the barrel and it was not yet received at its destination. A little investigation revealed that the barrel was in the port of the destination country with a 'hold-do-not-deliver' stamp. Further tracking revealed that the freight was not paid; neither by the shipping company nor by Caribbean Freight Inc. Telephone calls to Caribbean Freight tells me that they have to send a check to the shipping company. As an irate customer who requires the service that was explained to me, I was hung up upon after being told that the recipent will get the barrel in another few days.

I expected the barrel to be delivered when they said it would be and further, payments for shipping should be done simultaneously when the barrel was trans-shipped, as I did.

Will look for alternative shippers in the future.
