Complaint Review: Carillon Towers - Boxer Property Dallas

Avoid renting from or visiting this Boxer Property Dallas office building as it houses a prison work program and you are literally placing your person and belongings at risk!

I spoke to Houston based Boxer Property year ago about renting an office space at 13601 Preston Rd Carillon Towers in Dallas, TX. They were very high pressure in their sale and were elusive to my questions about the property. I didn't like the approach and heard bad things about Boxer Property so I just moved on. However, while visiting the building, I did notice the elevators were full of fairly shady looking people. I thought it was odd as the building was very nice.

About a month ago I was driving by this building and noticed the bus stop full of the same looking people. Striking my curiosity, I started to ask around. I was shocked at what I found out.

Boxer Property bought this building in distress and part of their deal was to implement a work release program with a call center that is in the building. It is questionable whether this is with the State or the City of Dallas but I've pulled open records requests at both levels. The talk is they got years of tax abatements for it. I also ran the police reports for the past year. Everything from car break-ins and assault to parole violations being served at that building. It is crazy. There is actually a private squad car parked at the building with lights and all!!!

I am writing this as I heard that Boxer Propery was a bit sleazy but to try and rent space to a small business without disclosing what was happening at this building should be a crime itself. I also learned that the lease rates they were quoting me were way out of the market and they rip small business owners off in that way.

Avoid this building and avoid Boxer Property. 13601 Preston Rd Carillon Towers is a prison system for all it is worth!
