We purchased a 1999 Porsche Boxter on 05/14/02 for a base price of 32071.00 mileage of 48385. Brought the car back 8000 miles later and they offered my 19000.00 for the car.

I asked how they could offer me 13000.00 less for a car I had for one year and only put 8000 miles on. They said that was all the car was worth. Therefore the car wasn't worth the 32000.00 when they sold it to me one year before.

Does a Porsche depreciate that fast? Did I get ripped off in the first place? Or is Carl Black ripping me off this time? Sad part is that I have bought five cars and trucks from Carl Black....Guaranteed there won't be a sixth. If Carl Black were the only dealership in the World, I would walk.

I hope owner gets this email. He guaranteed everyone from my church they would be treated right, at least that is what he told the Pastor from West Ridge Church. It's not good to lie!!!

I am a former employee of the Carl Black Auto Group. I am also a current customer.

Businesses, any of them, are run to make money - and The CB Auto Group does it more honestly than most. Their policy is volume sales and keeping the customer happy. What can I say? You've done a considerable amount of business with them.

The CB dealerships are all run with the highest possible professional ethics, with consistent rankings in the top 5% of dealerships in sales, service, and customer satisfaction - and have incredibly low numbers of complaints. Having said that - unfortunate things do still occasionally happen. Let's face facts: very few people in the retail automobile business are Sunday school teachers.

Mr. Black doesn't tolerate shady dealing, and is available to hear your complaint; but I suggest speaking with Hiram's General Manager, Rodney McDaniel first. I'm sure either of them will take the time to explain how all of the numbers you provided were arrived at.

The car is 1 year older mind you and a 2002 looks alot better on paper then a 2001 get me... Anyway, you can go to kelly blue book and get the trade in value and then subtract about $3,000 dealerships go $3,000 back from book on tradeins because they have to Smog and safety the vehicle and get it checked by their mechanics and made lot ready. Cars do depreciate infact a car drops in value 1/3 when its drove off the lot the first time so imagin driving a ferrari off the lot brand new and then you depreciate $100,000 to the dealer. Makes 13,000 much easier to cope with. Now you can sell it private party and get more because they dont have to make it ready for anything. AND NEVER expect FULL BLUE BOOK for your car EVER. Noone pays the price in the window if you get my drift. If they gave you full blue book and some guy comes in wanting a $2,000 dicount whats the dealer gonna do? Lose money? No. So honestly you might be like everyone else driving new cars and be upside down on your trade.... Sell it private party is my suggestion.

You can go to Kelly Blue Book on the web, insert all the information needed to find out the resale and trade in value on the vehicle - I hope this helps
