I moved into my home on October 2007. I got an inspector prior to moving in to make sure that the home was in good shape. The inspector found 20 different issues including water leaking from the roof. Carlisle did correct it prior to us closing. A week after we moved in we had problems with our heater and plumbing. I tried several times emailing and leaving phone messages with no response. After finally getting angry with Chuck and Mike, my two issues were resolved. After that things started appearing that needed to be done. I spoke to Mike a week after my first issue and he stated that at that time he would have the warranty work done but as the story repeats itself that has not happened. I have left messages, emailed both Mike and Perry Thomas and neither has responsed to any of my issues. I started to ask people that have bought homes by Carlisle and they have the same issue regarding the warranty work not being done.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when I received a letter from an attorney's office stating that a contractor did not get paid for work that was done prior to me moving in. The letter stated that I have a lien on my home. I am working with an attorney to resolve that issue. Apparently Perry Thomas has been in this business for a while. The attorney that I am working with informed me that he has had a history of starting companies building homes and when the finances get tight, he closes shop and move to another area and starts over again. I have done research on the internet and found out that he was in with Tremont homes, Stature construction, and these two companies were tied with a big political figure that ran for Mayor. Luckily this guy lost.

I think that we need to ban together to get this guy to "do what is right". If not he will continue to find another area with another name to start creating nightmares for other homeowners. If anyone has a lawsuit or an attorney that is interested in taking on this please post on the internet or on a webpage so that we can ban together. I am pretty sure that there are many other homeowners who have given up or dont know what to do. I am ready to fight for what is right and that is to get my warranty work done. If anyone believes that this guy is going to step up to the plate and do it without a fight let me know how you got him to do this.

I feel your pain! I closed recently too. If your attorney has not already told you, be sure to send any lien info that you receive to the title company. If you live in Katy, then most likely you closed at First American Title on Grand Parkway. If you have a full title policy, then it should cover any claims like this. If you have a mortgage then most likely you have a full title policy. At closing, you are guaranteed clear title. Carlisle I believe signs some sort of addendum stating all debts have been paid! Scary!

I would like to say in regards to Chuck and Mike -I think they tried their best to do what they could for all of us in a really bad situation. I think intentions were good just no funding to get it done! I can say that Chuck Shaw personally did work on my home and went out on a few limbs to get me closed in my time frame. We also need to remember there are about 3 big guys, not just Perry Thomas. In my research, I can tell you Perry Thomas only owned about 25% of the deal... so yes he failed us but I think it was due to other's poor leadership. Who knows the real or whole story..... now we have to do what we can whatever that may be!

You all say you want to stick together, well I agree BUT you can file a lawsuit against someone that has already lost it all! That is of course my opinion.

I would be curious to know who you are. If you live in Katy, so do I!
