Complaint Review: Carlos Davalos of CDB Construction Inc.

He made us fill an application for change of GC to Monroe County, FL said he would finish all the jobs except the pool (which would take an additional 3-4 weeks) in 2-3 weeks and asked for 2 deposits: One for the jobs in question (including permit application) and the other to pay for the pool engineer's drawings and pool permit application. We paid him a total of $9500 by check which he casehed immediately.

He pretended that he was all over the job list and even met with us on some occasions to go over the jobs details and time frames. He even discussed the job on whatsup and texts over time pretending he was actually doing something. Over the next several weeks he lied about every single thing he said to make us confident that he had started and was progressing in a timely manner. Unfortunately for us, It turned out he never did anything whatsoever in the house.

Since we were 4 hours away from the site, by the time we realized what was actually happening, it was too late. He walked away with the deposit and no longer answers calls or messages. First class con artist and a fraudster. I must say he is a real pro. Similar to the ones you see in the  movies. His whole act has been perfected from the ground up to swindle people out of their money and disappear. He obviously has a lot of experience in swindling people. Do yourself a favor and keep away even if he offers to do your job for free.
