September of 2013 , I was in the market for a newer truck. I found myself @ carmax located on Jefferson avenue in Newport news Virginia's on a Sunday afternoon. The salesman explained that he was on a salary to in some way make him seem less than pushy. I opted to test drive a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 . Blue in color, 4 doors and from what I could see , the body looked straight and clean. I am not an auto body expert ,but I specifically ask 4 times if this vehicle had ever been involved in any accidents , to wit I was told no. This was a lie.

The truck has been hit on the right rear so hard it has twisted the cab and all the cheap paint and bondo in the world can not hide bad body work from the trained eye of an auto body repairman , as a result of some careless moron backing into my tailgate.

Scott, my body repairman was able to confirm what I had suspected. The bed and rear bumper was filled heavily with bodyfiller and thea tailgate was from a junkyard. The cab is twisted enough to see the gasket starting to peel out and the drivers door has always made alot of noise when closing. Let mereiterate , if I had not been lied to , I would not have purchased  this truck. It is my opinion that infact Carmax on Jefferson Ave. in Newport News Virginia omitted this information intentionally and provided false and misleading tactic .

If anyone at Carmax would like to discuss this with me personally, I welcome the opportunity .  You can meet me at the repair facility where the work was performed or I can bring it in. Either way, this posting isn't coming down until somebody addresses this in person, and I mean face to face.

I will have to disagree with you , Carmax vehicles are not sold as is. They provide the customer with a written signed gaurentee that a 125 point inspection was completed . The customer is also offered a warranty so how is it that the car is sold as is? Bottom line s Camax sells unsafe cars and in most cases hve open recalls also most of the cars are from insurance auctions that dealers will not buy.

I really don't know who you think you are talking to, but the chances of someone from Carmax seeing this post is slim.  What is even slimer is for them to know who you are, and where this repair facility is.  On top of that if you had actually read the terms of this site you would realize that this post is never going to be removed..even if you ask them to do it.  As that is the policy of this site, and the only thing you can do is post an update.

Now, as for your truck.  The reason I bring up you not reading the terms of this site is actually very important for your case.  As when you got the car you also probably failed to read the part of the contract that said you were purchasing the car "As-Is".  Meaning that ANYTHING that is wrong with the truck is YOUR responsibility.

One thing that Carmax offers is a 5-Day guarantee.  So if you were that worried about if the truck had been in an accident(after all you asked FOUR times).  You could have gone to an "Auto body expert" and got their opinion.  But you did not.  You say that Carmax lied. Okay how do you know that?  Do you have some proof that they knew it was in an accident?  Because without that you are going to have a very tough claim  to prove.

If you want to discuss this with someone at Carmax..perhaps you should actually contact them...yea I know too simple right?
