I was on the Carnival Pride April 15th - 22nd, 2007. On the last evening of the cruise there was a Carnival Sea Miles Representative set up in a small booth outside one of the lounge areas. She was promoting Carnivals Sea Miles Credit Card. She said if you sign up for their credit card now, and put the balance of your room charges for the week onto this new credit card, your interest rate for this transfer would be at 0.0 % interest. Any future purchases, up to your available credit limit would be at the prevailing interest rate.

Imagine my disbelief when I started receiving statements with interest accruing at an APR of 16.24 %.

I contacted by phone a representative from their Card Services division. This person asked if I had secured my room charges on a "debit" card. I had secured my charges with my debit card. He told me that unfortunately (for me) balances on a "debit" card are not considered for their promotional rate on balance transfers.

This is a Rip Off, I was never given this information when I signed up for this card that was supposed to be at 0.0 % interest. I would never have signed up for anything with a 16.24 % interest rate.

Beware of this Carnival Cruise Line Rip Off. I will never travel on Carnival again. We have a huge group of yearly cruisers that will be cruising on any other cruse line but Carnival.
