On Nov 4, 2007 I took my family and his friend on a cruise for his high school graduation present. We booked quite a few cabins as other homeschool graduates participated. We cruised on the Carnival Legend. When we first saw our cabin we were amazed that they made us wait while the rooms were prepared since our room was not. No sheets, pillows, towels.

So we waited. When they did the emergency drill we needed life perservers. They said to go to our muster station and they would get them for us since there were none in the room. They said at the muster station that our cabin steward would get it for us later.
Well, as the day turned into night, we became concerned so we went to the pursers desk. They said they would put it in their log. We went back to the cabin and called for our room steward. We were told he was sick. We said we needed sheets, pillows, towels, life preserver.

They finally came to our room with one pillow. We continued to talk to the pursers desk, the stewards supervisor. but we spent one entire week with only one pillow, no sheets, towels, soap, blanket.

I am amazed that a cruise ship that is supposed to pamper you with luxury could do this. I did send a letter to guest relations. They in turn sent me a $50 onboard credit for the next cruise if booked within 60 days. Give me a break. I don't think I ever want to go through that ever again. Interestingly enough, we were not the only passengers upset on this cruise. There were a lot of unhappy cruisers.

Story Makes no Sense at All

So you spent a week with one pillow, no sheets, etc etc ? What a farfetched story. Your steward had a number of staterooms to service. What about the other passengers in his area. Did they get pillows and sheets? I would have sat down at the Purser's Office immediately and loudly complained until somebody went to the linen locker and outfitted the room. I would have also collared one of the stewards from another room and told him the problem. If nothing else he would have unlocked the linen closet and given you the sheets and pillows. It is obvious that you had a problem with Carnival -lots do, but a more believable story would have been more convincing. This story is ridiculous. The life preserver incident should be documented and sent to the Coast Guard Commandant for the Coast Guard District from which the ship sailed. This is serious and if confirmed would result in penalties against Carnival. Rip Off Report is not the place to lodge this complaint.
