Carolina Carports LLC Buyer Beware - Read ALL Reviews!!! Dobson NC
I purchased a carport structure from this company, as a third-party, on June 14, 2017. As of this date, August 21, 2017, I have yet to receive said structure. Their lack of scheduling ability, contracting companies they deal with, etc. is deplorable. If I had read all of the negative reviews in regards to this company and their lack of scheduling and contract fulfillment prior to my purchase, I would've never bought from them. Below is a better business bureau report in regards to this company as well. PATTERN OF COMPLAINT - Carolina Carports In December of 2015, BBB of Northwest North Carolina conducted an investigation regarding the large number of complaints received within the carport/metal building industry. The BBB found within the industry that the primary complaint of the majority of customers was late delivery of metal structures coupled with a lack of communication. On December 16, 2015, BBB contacted Carolina Carports, Inc. (CCI) about their 124 of 178 complaints concerning these industry issues. These complaints indicate customers have experienced delivery delays from a few weeks to many months with limited communication from the company.
The company met with BBB representatives on February 3, 2016 to discuss these issues. To date, Carolina Carports, Inc. has not offered a plan to address the underlying cause of their complaints.â¨â¨The business website allows buyers to estimate the cost of the desired carport, but it can only be ordered from an authorized dealer. The 1500 authorized dealers are trained by CCI, but this initial purchase can create incorrect expectations and confusion for buyers.â¨â¨CCI only communicates with customers 2-3 days prior to delivery to confirm order and verify the site is prepared.â¨â¨The subcontracted installers pick-up and deliver the carports to the customers. Delivery delays include lack of personnel, weather or vehicle malfunction. Also, the first carport installation can cause a delay for the second carport installation. A lack of communication between the installers, CCI and customers can create more frustration for buyers waiting on delivery.â¨â¨Consumers should read contracts carefully and ask questions about delivery, installation, site preparation, and cancellation before signing. â¨â¨Consumers should be aware that delivery schedules can change with the seasons and should expect longer delivery times in the winter months.
