This company took my furniture order in May, 2002 and also took a 50% deposit. Over the phone, the salesman was extremely nice and sounded very trustworthy. The contract called for my furniture to arrive within 16 weeks. I started calling and getting the run around.

Eventually, I contacted the BBB of NC and they emailed me a report which told me that the owner was indicted in South Carolina for doing the same thing in 1999.
I have complained to the Attorney Generals Office. They have met with HR PRIVETTE and he claims that he will make good but it never happens. I have been told by the AG that they do not know what to do next as HR is not being cooperative.

I am now approaching 30 weeks since I ordered and it is unlikely I will ever see my furniture or $900 deposit. I am now in the process of putting together a file for the local police and I will hopefully have him arrested. HR himself spoke to me a week before Thansgiving and PROMISED over and over that I would have my furniture by Thanksgiving.

He said he would call me back in a day to confirm the exact delivery. Never heard from him again and his employees are also experts at the run around game.

Refund finally returned after implementing "Plan B"

After recognizing the fact that the NC Attorney General wasn't going to get my money back for me and the District Attorney didn't give a hoot, I realized that my destiny was in my own hands. I decided to follow Plan B. Plan B is simply to become a major pest. For me, over the course of three weeks, this meant about 50 phone calls and about 25 faxes. And the real secret is you have to be rotten, mean, and nasty to whomever answers the phone. Drive the receptionist crazy, don't accept voice mail, call right back, demand to speak with the owner, threaten to contact suppliers, the District Attorney's office, police, etc.

Good luck...best advice...don't order from Carolina Furniture!

I have had the same experience with Carolina Furniture. They have $649.00 of mine and will not deliver my furniture and won't send me a refund.
