Same story as everyone else.

I ordered a Kincaid King Size Sleigh Bed on: 10/03/2002. My salesperson was "Bob". I signed the contract and sent Carolina Furniture (CF) a 50% deposit in the amount of $567.50. Bob said to expect delivery sometime over the holidays. In late December when I hadnt heard anything, I called CF back and spoke to Bob. He told me that I needed to speak with the owner, HR Privette, in order to get a delivery status. I found this to be peculiar.

Thats when I went to http://www.bbb.com, looked up the company and learned that I was most likely ripped off.

I filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the N.C. A.G.s office.
I called C.F. (1-800-340-0064) and left message after message which never got returned.

Ive sent numerous email to hr@carolinafurniture.com requesting my money back with no reply.

I sent a Certified Letter requesting my money back that was returned Post Office Box Closed

I sent numerous FAXs (336-887-3266) requesting my money back. (NOW, IM NOT GETTING THROUGH ANYMORE)

I contacted a local news station FOX Under Cover http://www.foxphiladelphia.com/undercover/index.html. Theyre doing a story on my issue. Hopefully this should bring more attention to the criminal activities of H.R. Privette.

Since my order with CF on 10/03/2003, I've received one phone call. It came from H.R. Privette himself on 03/05/2003. He said, Dont worry, Ill send you your deposit back within a few weeks. Its been more than a month. NO REFUND. After reading the current 58 threads at this site, Im not surprised.

WE NEED A LAWYER WHO CAN COMBINE OUR CASES FOR ONE BIG LAW SUIT AGAINST PRIVETTE. THIS WOULD HELP THOSE OF US WHO KNOW IT ISNT FINANCIALLY FEASABLE TO HIGHER A LAWYER INDEPENDENTLY.

ALTHOUGH THE CASE HAS BEEN TURNED OVER TO THE FBI, FROM WHAT I CAN GATHER, THEY ARE TOO BUSY WITH OTHER ISSUES HIGHER IN PRIORITY. IT MAY BE QUITE SOME TIME BEFORE THEY CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT PRIVETTE. MEANWHILE, HE CONTINUES TO TAKE MORE PEOPLES MONEY.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW !!!

Over 400 complaints here on Rip-off Report

There are over 400 complaints against Carolina Furniture as per Kristine L. Lanning, Assistant Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division, N.C. Attorney General's office.

The Top Reports' section of the home page for www.ripoffreports.com pertaining to Carolina Furniture should be updated from 200 to over 400' complaints.

H.R. Privette is blocking incoming fax number area codes. I can no longer remind him that he has stolen money from me via fax.

Area Codes blocked: 610, 215.

I've spoken with another victim who has found his fax area code to be blocked as well. He lives in Hackensack, NJ.
