Complaint Review: Carpet Mill

Carpet Mill takes no responsibility for their salespersons' actions. We will never shop there again! Boulder, Colorado

The salesperson at Carpet Mill sold us a carpet, after having come to our house and seeing exactly where it was going to be installed.  The carpet had to be replaced because of the constant soiling on the stairs.

Stainmaster (the company that applies the soil protection) replaced the carpet, but we had to live with it for a year, move all our furniture out of the basement, and we had to pay for the disposal and re-install which was $600.

Chris, the manager at Boulder Carpet Mill told us, The salesperson never should have sold you that carpet.  It is not appropriate for stairs because it will soil.

Carpet Mill refused to pay for the re-install, even though their salesperson was wrong to have sold us the carpet.  There is no reason that the customer should be held responsible for the salespersons mistake.

We paid for the first carpet and we paid for an upgrade (not wanting to purchase the same carpet) in good faith, and we were hugely inconvenienced for over a year.
