On July 30th, 2007 I visited the Chandler, AZ showroom of Carpet Mills of America and ordered a rug to use in my living room. I had not found any throw rugs to my liking, so I ordered a 12' x 8' grey rug. This was standard carpet straight out of one of their sample books. The man who took my order, Walid Awadalla, was very coureous and told me I could pick up the rug from their warehouse the following week. He told me to call the warehouse to make sure it was done since the edges had to get bound and that might take a few days.

The following week, I never received a call from the warehouse, so I called them the next week. Athena, who usually answers the phone (602-230-9963) was very nice and told me that the rug was not ready, but that she would look into it and let me know.

The rest of the week went by and I never heard from her, so I called again the following week. Again, she informed me that the rug was not ready but that she would find out what was taking so long and get me an answer. Again, she never called me back.

Several more weeks of this went on with me periodically calling and asking when my rug was. Athena was always very polite, but I eventually began to realize that no effort was ever taken between any of my phone calls.

Three months later, I still had not received my rug! By this point, I had become very annoyed, and asked Athena to talk to her manager. She said her manager was out, but that she would have him call me. He never called. I repeatedly called, and Athena repeatedly told me that the manager was very concerned and that he would return my call. This happened for over a week, with me calling Athena almost every day, and not once talking to her manager.

Towards the middle of October (remember, the rug was ordered in July), I called Athena and told her to refund the money for the rug to my credit card. She appologized for the delay once again, and told me that her manager was very concerned. I told her that was fine, he can call me, but to pleae refund the money to my card.

A week later, I noticed that the charge had not been credited to my account. I called Athena and aske her why, and she said she told her manager. I asked to talk to him, and as usual he was not available. Once again, she promised he would return my call, and once again he did not.

The following day, I called again, and this time a gentleman named Tony answered. I soon realized that this was the manager I was seeking. After explaining who I was and why I was so angry, he claimed this was the first he had heard of the situation. I asked to talk to Athena so I could ask her why he was claiming this when she repeatedly assured me that he was very concerned, but Tony said she was not in yet. He said I could call back in 15 minutes (does this give you an idea of what kind of company this is?)

I called back in 15 minutes, and a man named Levi answered. I asked to talk to Athena and he said she was not in. I asked to talk to Tony, and after a brief time on hold he retured and said Tony told him to tell me that he was in a meeting, and that Athena had called in sick and wouldn't be in that day.

I called back in an hour, and Athena answered! After listening to a lame excuse about recovering from her sickness and deciding to come to work, I informed her that Tony said he had no idea what I was talking about and didn't know why I was so upset. She told me that he did (she was obviously very fustered to have been put in this situation by her boss) and transfered the phone to Tony. After a lengthy arguement, Tony said he would not refund my money.

I am now trying to recover my funds via complaints to te Better Business Bureau and the Registrar of Contractors. I wish I had reviewed their records on these respective websites prior to giving them my money!

This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company, and I will do everything in my power to steer potential customers away. I would have gladly paid twice as much for a rug to avoid giving my money to the scumbags who run this copany. Do your homework before getting suckered into a contract with these con artists - you'll quickly learn exactly what kind of company this is!
