If you don't mind getting ripped off, then use Carpet Mills of America. If you don't want to have to get an attorney to fight Carpet Mills to fix the poor job that was done, then please walk as far away from Carpet Mills of America as you can.

I had both vinyl and laminate flooring put down. The contractors that came in did a really poor job. I called Carpet Mills of America to tell them about how unsatisfied I was and they need to have someone come out and re-fix the mess that was made. It took me 3 cancellations before I got the VP out to look at the situation. They promised me 4 times that they scheduled someone to come out, but 4 times it never happened.

They have been lying to me about scheduling someone to come out. I have wasted so much time sitting around waiting for nobody to show up.I am at my wits end trying to figure out what to do about getting this situation resolved, since it is obvious that Carpet Mills of America has no intention of fixing the mess that their contractors made. I now have to find an attorney to fight this.

This has put a great deal of stress on me. Please walk as far away from this company as you can. They lie and will not correct any unsatisfactory jobs that they do.

You are the owner that I tried to contact with my problems

While you have made the effort to defend your company, you were the one that I tried contacting via email and phone, and you never bothered to contact me in any way, shape, or form.

When I ordered my lamanent flooring, it was a huge nightmare. You made no effort whatsoever to resolve my issues. The contractors that you hired to do my floors were horrible. Several of them did not speak English and had no idea how to communicate with me.

I was lied to by several people that work in your corporate office. It took me over 2 months to get the lousy job fixed, and it was very stressful. I wasted many, many hours waiting for you or one of your employees to call me back. I also wasted many hours waiting for someone to come to my house, and never did.

I have never in my life been treated the way Carpet Mills of America treated me. If this is how you are trying to better your company, you will be out of business in a hurry.

New Ownership

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, June 06, 2008

To all concerned:

After reading some of the reports on this website, I have to say it has raised some serious concerns about the level of service that our customers receive. Unfortunately, when these statements are posted as anonymous or just first names I can neither confirm nor deny any of the accusations in the complaints. I would however like to take this opportunity to shed some new light on our company.

Carpet Mills of America has been one of the largest and greatest flooring companies in the country for the last 20 years. This company was started in 1988 in Texas and grew to be the largest privately owned flooring company in the U.S.. Over the last 2-3 years I started to see a decline in the level of service and commitment to the industry that Carpet Mills has been known for throughout their history. Were talking about a company that has been voted the Best Place to Buy Flooring and many other awards by flooring magazines all across the country. This was definitely something that raised some interest from myself, a 20 year flooring veteren here in the Valley. In an effort to save this great company from certain failure, I bought Carpet Mills very recently and I am currently working through the back-log of customers that deserve the same level of service as if they had bought today.

While I wish I had taken the reins sooner, I can not dwell on the past and I sincerely hope that the sins of the previous owners are not held against the new corporation. I have made a conscious and deliberate choice to keep the name when it would be just as easy to change it. The reason is that for every dissatisfied customer on this report, there are literally thousands who would never use anyone but Carpet Mills.

This company is no longer a place where the ownership is "somewhere" in Texas. I am a local resident and member of the community. I work hard to deliver the same level of customer service to my customers that I would expect when I make a purchase here in town. Finally, the dollars spent at Carpet Mills will stay in the local economy and most importantly, I can be here to see my customers and their satisfaction with the work we produce.

We have brought in a professional group of installers that I have known for years here in the valley and I would put their craftsmanship up against anyone in the industry. I can not do anything about the past and I hope that myself, my family and my employees will not pay the price for my decision to keep the name of this company intact. I WILL, however, make this the premier place to buy flooring in Arizona again like it has always had been in the past.

I hope my commitment to this company and to our customers at least shows in the fact that this is the first time anyone has responed to a complaint on this website in the years that customers have filed. We are seeing great things and getting amazing referals everyday, and I hope that anyone who reads this gives a local small business owner a chance to make their home more beautiful.

With Sincere respect,

Jim Santangelo
President, Carpet Mills of America (AZ)
