Complaint Review: Cars by Mark

We purchased a used vehicle from Mark Heacox, who claims to sell "dependable cars at affordable prices". The car started breaking down after a few days and was completely  not drivable within two weeks. The car basically wouldn't go over 20MPH and was leaking out all of the transmission fluid. We contacted Mark Heacox and let him know what was going on. He said to bring the car to him so he could let his mechanic "look at it" (30 miles away in Conway). We let him know, again, that the car would not go over 20 MPH and there was no way we could get the car there. Clearly, he knew something was wrong with the transmission before he sold the car because he even stated that it was transmission problems. He told us to call a wrecker to have the car towed up there. However, when we asked who was going to pay for the wrecker, he said that we had to. Not only that, but he said that when the car gets there, he'd look at it to see what's wrong with it but if he fixes it we'd have to pay for that too. He was VERY rude and hung up in our face when we said we would get a lawyer. He also tried to blame us for the car breaking down and said that we were probably driving it crazy. There is no reason a car should break down within days of buying it. DO NOT PURCHASE CARS FROM THIS GUY! He fixes cars up enough to get them off the lot even though he knows that they're junk and will try to charge YOU to get it fixed. The car will start to break down within a day or two.
