I, Jeffery C. Bxxxx, purchased a 2007 Toyota Tacoma, vin# (((REDACTED))), on September 1, 2014 from Omega Internet Marketing, 623 Barringer Lane, Houston, TX 77598. The truck had 159,472 miles on it and was a one owner vehicle. We received from the Car Salesman a 6 Month 7,500 mile extended warranty service contract with CARS Protection Plus Warranty Company.  We drove the truck for approximately 3 months when it started making a knocking noise in the engine. I called CARS Protection Plus and spoke with Flynn at extension 244. He told me to take it to a repair shop and have them check the truck out.

I took the truck to Autoteck in Idabel, Oklahoma to have it checked. Jerry Barnes, the mechanic, said he thought it was a main bearing failure.  I spoke with Flynn a second time and he said to have Jerry drop the oil pan and take pictures of the main bearings, fill out a report and send it in to CARS. This expense was not covered by the warranty so I had to cover the $400 charge myself.  Jerry called Flynn and he told him not to send in a report that he would have an inspector come by and inspect the vehicle.

CARS Protection Plus sent out an inspector from Louisiana to look at the truck. The inspector told Flynn that the engine had a leak and had been run out of oil so they refused to honor the warranty. I did not run the engine out of oil and Jerry Barnes, the mechanic, is giving an affidavit stating this fact. Also below are pictures to prove the engine was not run out of oil and never had an oil leak.

Picture looking at the bottom of transmission to the back of the engine showing no oil leaks - See Pictures

Picture of the back end of the engine – shows no oil leaks - See Pictures

Flynn and his Supervisor with CARS Protection said the report from the inspector stated that the Mechanic discarded all the oil and oil filter. The filter was never taken off of the engine and the oil was drained in a drain pan. He also stated that the inspector showed that there was a massive oil leak that caused the engine to run out of oil. These pictures show there was no evidence of the engine ever leaking oil. The oil leak in question was from when CARS Protection told the mechanic to drop the oil pan to inspect the main rod bearings and the oil spilled out on the frame under the engine as seen below.

I have the report showing their inspection and you can tell that they grayes out the images to look like the engine was dry of oil but if you look close you can see the oil dropplets all over the internals of the engine. They also doctored the picture of the transm oil pan making it look like there had been a fire. This is completely False. I can show their report picture and pictures that i took the same day and 1 month later and prove this falsification of document. This truck is still setting where there inspector left it over a month ago and I have a lawyer working on this issue.

I have a complete video showing the engine, bearings, the complete underside showing no oil leaks with the vehicle VIN number. I also have a Carfax report showing the truck was a one owner vehicle with no accidents or reported problems. I can provide a copy of this report.

A Message To Our Customers:

CARS Protection Plus, Inc. has provided service to over 1 million customers since 1998. As much as we would like to please everyone, the reality is quite challenging. Compared to the number of contracts issued, our complaints are well below average for a company our size. We maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau because when an unbiased third-party looks into a complaint, the result is CARS has acted ethically and in compliance with the terms and conditions of the service contract. Although we have a proven track record under third-party review, some customers interpret being limited to the level of coverage they have purchased as poor customer service. Unfortunately, nothing we say or do will change these opinions.

Finding the right service contract to fit a customer’s individual needs can be challenging. To further assist with this process, CARS has created an Educational Guide to help with understanding service contracts. Our guide is available via eBook, and can be found here: http://www.carsprotectionplus.com/online-ebook-download
