WHEN BUYING A USED VEHICLE ME AND MY FIANCE' DECIDED TO PURCHASE A WARRANTY TO PROTECT OURSELVES. AFTER A COUPLE WEEKS OUR TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT DEFINITELY NEEDED WORK DONE. SO WE MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO DROP OFF THE VEHICLE THE FOLLOWING MONDAY AND WERE TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE IN THE SHOP ABOUT 3 TO 5 DAYS.

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

ON THE SEVENTH DAY I CALLED AND TOLD THE WORK WAS COMPLETE. I THEN HAD TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL UP FRONT AND WAIT FOR REIMBURSEMENT. TWO DAYS LATER I GET A LETTER IN THE MAIL SAYING THAT THEY REFUSE TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL CAUSE THE LABOR HOURS WAS NOT ENOUGH. I THINK THIS COMPANY DOES VERY BAD BUSINESS AND I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY WARRANTY. THEY KEEP YOU ON HOLD FOREVER SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR RENTAL.

SO WHAT SHOULD HAVE COST YOU YOUR DEDUCTIBLE NOW COST FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BBB ABOUT HIS COMPANY AND I WILL BE CONTATING THE LOCAL NEWS AS WELL. DON'T FALL INTO THE TRAP OF THIS COMAPNY. BEWARE!!!!!!!!

I bought a used car about 7 years ago from a small used car lot and was encouraged to purchase a warranty from C.A.R.S. Protection Plus. They were great!  So, naturally, when I purchased a used car a month ago, there was no question on the warranty purchase thru C.A.R.S.

I recently pursued a claim for an a/c condenser covered under warranty and took it to a garage of my choice as the warranty allows.  CARS wanted to provide a cheaper part and only pay $83 towards the labor.  The warranty did say that they would only pay UP TO $60/hr not including recovery of a/c coolant and recharging of the system.

I just assumed that they would pay $60/hr for every hour that it took according to the alotted time standard for the repair. So, that would be my fault for not recognizing the flexibility of the wording within the warranty itsself. Yes, you do have to know what type of car your getting, but not everyone is an expert.

Used car dealers purchase these used vehicles at auction and can't forsee every single problem that they have ( like
internal mechanical issues).  So they offer a little assurance thru a warranty purchased from C.A.R.S. Protection Plus. It's definately not the same company that it was 7 years ago.

I own a small Hi-Line Dealership in the Midwest. I'm now in the 20th year of operation. When CARS Protection Plus started I jumped on board and started using their Limited Warranties. BOY HAVE THEY BEEN GREAT PEOPLE to deal with. Problems develop from unscrupulous Dealers passing PROBLEM Automobiles on to consumers! Watch out for the Dealer that just opened a few months ago. Watch out for cars that have problems already when you purchase them!

Take the few minutes to ask the dealer about the contract and READ IT! CARS STANDS BEHIND THEIR CONTRACTS TO THE TEE! I have stacks of claims that they have paid. Not just a few hundred dollars of them but TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PAID CLAIMS! One has to follow the rules. Go to a real repair shop! Have THEM contact CARS! They always get back with the next step in a few hours or less. Large and expensive claims take verification and that has to be done before they will pay! If a covered part caused the problem they jump on it and PAY UP like a Parent would for his Kid.

CARS PROTECTION PLUS is a great COMPANY, and most of the CRYING FOLKS out there just make it bad for the rest that don't expect miracles. Prepare to pay the Deductible and a few miscellaneous charges. I have at least 100 customers that are glad they dealt with my Company because I DEAL WITH CARS!
