Hi,
In reference to the phone call of September 10 I shall give you here a brief outline of my adventure with Carvin.

Searching for a rock preamp with interesting sound and reasonable price I came across Carvin TN 100 - with a signature of the well known guitarist, Frank Gambale.

On February 20, 2007 the preamp (serial nr.#........ ) was purchased (order nr. #.........) by my uncle, Mr. ............ , who living in the USA.

The gear was brought to Poland in May last year and when it was taken out of the original box, the first thing that attracted attention was some awful wear and- tear- look of the chassis, with the top cover held in place with just two screws, while the other were happily ringing in their sockets.

After three hours of preamp exercise some clock ticking noises came to be heard and were soon joined by more hissing and cracking effects. When MIDI was put on, the gear came to a stop.

Atter my e-mail complaint, Mr. Giovanni Tello, an employee of Carvin's Customer Service Secton suggested a replacement of the product, which, eventually, travelled back to the US in the private suitcase of Mr..............

I waited patiently for my uncle's and the preamp's arrival until Decemeber, 2007. Surprise, surprise; not more than two hours of premature joy, then an increasing volume of strange noises and the final dead silence.

Uncle ........, a patient man, packed up the preamp and took it back to Virginia.

At the end of January 2008 or was it the beginning of February, he sent the defective product back to Carvin, who assured him that they would compensate for the customer's dissatistaction with a new, upgraded version of the preamp.

We waited until March, that is, until Carvin sent to ........... the original #OC ..... preamp after a guarantee repair (INV# ........)...?

It is April. ....... brings the preamp to Poland. We plug it in, switch the power on and . . . . . . .

failure ! ! Nothing ! !

Alas, due to uncle ....... luggage limit and my correspondence with Carvin I was forced to send it San Diego, CA 92128 w USA at my own cost.

After my unsuccessful attempts to get in touch with Carvin ( no response to my mails at all !) and uncle ....... calls to the company, Carvin offered a credit of $........., number....... to use with their company, as the only solution.

Neither do they offer any other products capable to replace the faulty preamplifier.

Well, let us pause here.

Cheers,

Guitar player
