When I received my bill, there was an excess of $130 worth of charges that were not mine. When I brought this to my waiter's attention, he immediately agreed that these charges were not mine. He brought the owner to come talk to me. While the owner and I were working things out, another server had a complete stranger sign my bill and then they returned the customer copy of the receipt to me.

I asked why they let this happen, after all, it was MY credit card, not this other stranger's card. They didn't have an excuse. I calmed down and said that I would be willing to redo the bill with the correct charges and leave it at that. However, they were unwilling to do this and they would not redo the bill.

When I said that it was ilegal to do such a thing, the owner told me not to insult his employees. I was astonished. I said that this was credit card fraud and I was again told that I was insulting the employees and that I had an attitude problem. Long story short, I was kicked out of the establishment and the money was charged to my credit card. I am still trying to recover the funds through my credit card company, providing that the restaurant cooperates.

I worked in restaurants for a long time so I am very familiar with credit card procedures. That being said your complaint makes no sense what so ever. Maybe you are wording it incorrectly. How did someone sign your bill if you recieved the bill, who signed your bill? Was it another customer? If it was not your correct bill why would management make you pay it? What were the 130 dollars of charges from? Was it someone elses food? Or did somehow they enter the credit card incorrectly? etc....ect..... There seems like more to the story than you told. Maybe some more specifics could be given so people can understand the complaint a little better and in turn give you good advice.
