Complaint Review:
cash advance
I just got a
call from someone with a thick Indian accent (claiming to be David Scott). He
claimed that I had a legal warrant against me and that sheriffs will come to my
job or house to arrest me. He claimed that I owed Cash Advance $545.00. I have
my bank statements proving that I never received a dime from them or any other
payday loan. He also claimed that they tried to get the money out of my
account, my bank statements also proves that this is false. I've tried to
contact Cash Advance to check out this information, but cannot get anyone, just
information on applying for a new loan. Can anyone advise me on getting these
leeches to leave me alone?

This is a very common scam; search the posts on this board and you will see this. These scams often originate from India (real bill collectors are rarely from there), nobody in India is named David Scott, and NO telemarketer, bill collector, etc., would give their last name anyway.
Also, the fact that he threatened to have you arrested makes it obvious it is a scam; you do not get arrested for owing money! It is a civil matter, not a criminal one.
Again, ignore him - do NOT send any proof that you did not get a loan, do not send him anything! (especially your bank statements!). If anything, tell him you spoke with the sheriff and found out you do not have a warrant against you, and that the sheriff told you it was a scam.
