I'm  reporting a incident that happen to me today concerning  cash loan usa.  They called me several times and even left messages saying that I was  approved. The guy said that his name was Sam,  when I called back he stated that they loan was approved and that I needed to go get a green dot  money pack card for $183  because on a $2,000  loan  the monthly payment would be $183  for 12 months and when I got the card to call him back with the 14  digit code on the back.  So I got the card and called him back and he stated that the card will not be charged but was and that the money and the loan would be deposited into my account within 45  mins due to it takes a couple of mins for the moneypak  card to register and once the money was deposited he would give me a call back.  Approximately 35 mins later he called back and said that the money was deposited,  so I checked my account and nothing was there so I called him back and said that the money was deposit so he put me on hold and said don't hang up,  when he came back to the phone he said that his accountant said that my credit score wasn't high enough and that I would have to get another card with a one time fee of $457.00  and he guarantee the funds along with all my monies will be deposited so I told him that I want going to send another dime and he said that the money on the card was froze until I send the rest ,  so I called back and he kept hanging up and moments later he called back and left a nasty message.

Did you try to get a loan by filling out an application online through some website? Or did he just call you out of the blue? It is coincidental that he would call you on the very day that you need a loan.

You were scammed out of your $183.  This person or company set you up. There never was a loan approval at all.  I hope you didn't give him the additional funds because that would mean you were scammed twice on the same day by the same stranger.

There is no free money falling out of the sky or off the internet. The way to recognize a scam is when a stranger contacts you and asks for money up front from you in order to borrow funds. It is called the Advance Fee Loan Scam and has been around for a very long time. If a stranger asks you for money to be sent to them via Money Gram, Western Union or a reloadable card, you are being set up for a scam. The thing is, they keep going with the fees until you catch on. The slower you are, the more money you lose. The easiest thing to do is say no when they ask you to send any money and hang up.

Go to FTC.gov for details on scams and how to recognize them.
