I purchased a home by a local realtor at Keller Williams Realty Everett, WA, a little over 3 years ago. His advertisement stated "Buy a home from me and receive up to $10,000 cash back." After the home purchase, he told me I was eligible for the entire $10,000 cash back, but that it would take 36 months to redeem the certificate. Okay, no problem.

Three years later, to the day, I mailed in the certificate for redemption to Cash Rewards according to their instructions (quite extensive, I might add!) and waited in anticipation for my $10,000! Yet after numerous phone calls and many months later, I was told that it was still being processed.

FOUR MONTHS later my check arrived.....in the amount of only $3200. The letter from Cash Rewards accompanying the check stated that "due to the large amount of certificates received", they were mailing me a "proportional amount" of the entitlement.

WHAT?? I have yet to receive an explanation, and when I call the Cash Rewards number I no longer get a human on the other end (as I had for so many months). Now the number states that you must leave a message and the call will be returned within 24 hours! It appears as though I am not the only upset client here. Cash Rewards is not what they promised! I am in tears and shocked. I was really counting on that money. I plan to fight for my full amount.

Sent numerous emails regarding this matter. Realtor told me it wasn't his problem. Cash Rewards said that it was nowhere listed on their website that you may not receive the entire amount, yet it was in the "fine print" stating that excessive claims may lower the award amount. Everyone I ran it by agreed that the "fine print" was vague. When I asked Cash Rewards to see documentation proving that there were excessive claims, they said it was against their policy to provide information, so I would need to take their word for it. Meanwhile, after waiting 40 months, my so-called "$10,000 Cash Reward" for using Doug de los Angeles from Keller Williams Realty was worth nothing more than $3k.
