Well, i had received a payday loan from this company in April of this year. I kind of got into a bind and tried to work out payment arrangements with this company although they claimed they do not have an address. i wonder if they operate out of a tent in a park or something.

Anyway, beginning a week ago these people started calling my job and got smart with my co-worker and told her that she wanted to get the number to my human resources dept. and that she wanted to speak to my supervisor. Once my co-worker informed the lady named Sue Pascal that she was jeopardizing my job and she said that is what i am trying to do. I finally called her myself and she called me out of my name and repeatedly hung up on me. I called her back and some other woman answered the phone and she was just as nasty and told me well just give us our money. I had to hang up because these people are so disrespectful and they don't give you a chance to say anything. I think i must be there only customer or they are going broke.

Well I tried to call back and speak to a manager and of course he was on the phone (probably cussing someone else out too) well this time I spoke with a person by the name of Ray Starks and he was a poor excuse for a man. He was worse than both women put together. He told me to give them the money and grow up and he reffered to me as a fool i then told him to go to hell and he said i will see you there now you can hang up the phone. can yall please help me? these people are relentless and nasty. want can i do about them harrassing me on my job. i have 4 kids and i can't lose my job. Help

Call a lawyer, you have legal rights

I have also dealt with this company. The first thing I did after the initial call, which was nasty and at work, was to let Christine know that I did not want phone calls at my job, and to call me at home. She claims that she was making note of it on my account. Anyway, all she kept doing was getting smartmouthed with me, for no reason, just acting stupid. I also asked them to send me validation of the debt with the balance, and she told me "we don't send out notices".So she gave me her number and extension which I later verified to make sure it wasn't false information. The next week I got a call from John, who was a pure a**hole from jump. I could tell he was stupid, he was very condescending and rude, yelling over me when I tried to respond to him. Just being a real d*ck. Then he said they have no record of me speaking to Christine, I told him that was their problem, I have a record and a direct extension. Then he said he would contact my job about collecting, I just laughed at stupid and informed him that that was quite illegal, then he realized I was the smart one on the phone and not him. I laughed at his silence. Then he said some other things and then "Good day". Well I called my lawyer, and he informed that he had violated my rights and that if I can put up with the calls for a couple of more weeks, I could rake up on this company. He also said to ask them what their license number is to do collections business in the state of NC. I checked it out myself and they don't have one. So essentially they can't collect a dime from me, because they aren't supposed to be doing business in NC.

The thing that I want to let everyone know is that you ABSOLUTELY HAVE RIGHTS! Exercise them. My lawyer informed me that most people don't report these things and they think that just because the company is engaging in this type of behavior that it's legal. Also he advised me to get a recorder for my phone, in the state of NC it's legal to record a conversation as long as at least one person knows it's being recorded, and that person would be me. Also, you can get up to $1000 per incident, not per call, but per INCIDENT, on the federal level, and in most cases these violations are committed several times in one phone call. In the state of NC, you can get up to an additional $2000 on the state level. So imagine one phone call can be worth $3000 for one violation.

Just in those two phone calls they made one violation and two possible. The first was the fact that she said they don't send notices. Well I'm sending the request in writing certified and if I don't get my validation in 30 days, that's a violation. And the second call, with him threatening to garnish my wages, violation 2, they aren't even supposed to be doing business in NC, so they definately can't garnish anything. They can only say that if they actually intend to sue you and then get a garnishment started, which most of these company will not do. Also if he discloses to a third party the situation that is also a violation.

Hmm, that's about $9000 right there in two phone calls.

Please Please, don't let these people get away with this crap, if we all stand up to them legally, we can put them out of business.

This is what you do with CashNet

I didn't let Cash Net rip me off. I borrowed money from them and shortly after I had to shut off access to my account for an unrelated issue. When this happened, the threats and harrassment came when I tried to pay them back. I finally got someone to "allow" me to pay them and I set up payment arrangements.

I was also told that they had no address and that I had to use Western Union to pay them. I made my first payment in accordance with our agreement and called back with the confirmation info. When I did, I was told that the money I sent was going "somewhere else" and not toward my account because it wasn't the minimum acceptable payment. When this happened, I shut them off completely.

Call your bank and advise them that there is an illegal attempt to access your account and that you are in the process of taking it through legal channels and they will put a stop payment on any electronic debits in the name of "Cashnet" or "Payday Express," their alias. They should do this for free, but if they charge you a fee it won't be as much as the 500%+ interest that they're going to try to charge you at Cashnet.

Then, call all of the people you put on your application as references and advise them not to talk to Cashnet representatives when they call. Just hang up. When it comes to being harrassed on the job, they CAN'T do this legally! Advise them that you will press charges on them if they continue and make sure you write down the rep's name, date, and time of each call and/or message.
Next, check your state laws.

In many states, payday loans are actually illegal. They will deny it, but if you find out for sure tell them anyway. One good way to find out is to call your State Attorney General's office. If there is any restitution you can take, do it. Fill out a complaint, have the AG's office call Cashnet and/or send them a letter, etc.

As a special gift for you, here is Cashnet's physical address: 8121 York Road, Suite 200, Elkins Park, PA 19027.
