On June 17, 2009, at around 2pm or so, I began getting calls from a place called "Financial Injury." I was left a message on my phone to call back. I did so. I was told by someone who identified himself with a western name, and who had a very thick Middle Eastern or Indian accent, that I would be carried off by the police from my home or my job, would suffer the loss of my job/income, and would pay a dear price, if I did not pay back a loan from October 2008 from Cashnet. The person refused, initially, several times to identify himself or where he was from, refused to answer my questions, told me I had better have a lawyer, and that I would be in court by 830am on Thursday June 18, 2009, if I did not pay money he stated I owed. Before calling this person back, I should tell you that I had several messages on my phone from this person. When I finally called back it was after 9pm on June 17. While on the phone with this person who was continually threatening not only my job/livelihood, and my bank account, he began threatening the saftey of me, my family, my home and those closest to me. I am alone in my home at this time, and I cannot begin to tell you how upset I am. While on the phone with this jerk, I called Cashnetusa, with whom I currently have a loan, and have had subsequent loans and all have been paid/satisfied. I'm in good standing with them. While on the phone with a rep, I had her listen to the man yelling at me, threatening me, and she told me to NOT give him any information, that this was a case of fraud, and that he cannot do anything that he's claiming to do. He had my ssn#, my address and phone number. I have no idea how he got that information. I spoke with three different reps at Cashnet who stated that they were all aware of the fraud, and gave me a fraud number to contact: 8662543581, but that number goes to customer service. I sent an email to the company, and they gave me the same number. It is now 1130pm June 17, and I'm very upset and scared about something that is alleged, and cannot be verified, and I'm concerned that someone I don't know has my information and could show up at my home at any time, or my workplace. The number which was on my phone, the caller's number shows as: 3437290397. When I tried that number, a recording states that the number is disconnected. I was left a number by this person in my voice mail: 8002538218. I have a recording of a threat by this person telling me to pay, or he would have to wish me good luck and would have to say "good bye" and I would be very sorry. How would you interpret that?! I don't want to fault the company itself, and recognize that this is a possible scam. I have emailed my attorney general's office, and am afraid I won't be sleeping tonight. I'm by myself and terrified. I don't have the best credit in the world, and the times have hit me hard as a single parent. The company has loaned me money before, and it has always been paid, and they verified my good standing. I even have a current loan with them. If I had not paid back any loan with them, they would have never leant me any more money. This doesn't make sense. I need some help for my nerves right now.

I contacted the FBI and they said they couldn't do anything. The local, state and county police are unable to do anything. Someone has to do something! Do we have to involve the media at this point? I'm hiring an attorney at great expense to myself and I'm going to sue the pants off of Cashnet for violating my security, as there is some kind of breach. My ssn# is out there with people who mean to defraud me, and they have my name, workplace contact phone numbers, addresses and the name of my place of employment. My personal safety as well as that of my family has been compromised and threatened. I owe nothing to these people and it appears that our police and our government can't do anything about it. The FBI told me reather curtly that they don't deal with situations overseas like this. ???? What what?!
