Casio Computer Ltd refuses to replace the calculator my child needs in order to take her SAT's Tokoyo
We purchased a casio graphic calculator at the beginning of my daughters Jr. Year in high school. We purchased it knowing that she needed it for a 2nd semester class and for scheduled SAT tests in preparation for college. I even purchased a second year warenty.
The day she began the class, she tried to turn the calculator on. It wouldn't turn on. Batteries were checked etc. I had been told when the calculator was was purchased that the purchases was electronically recorded and that we would not need our receipt to take advantage of the warrenty. After calling and being told that THIS WAS A LIE, I found my receipt. I called 5 different phone numbers before I finally got to a person with casio.
I explained the above and that the calculator was needed for upcoming SAT's and major tests(within the next 2 weeks). I asked if we could just exchange the calculator @ the store we purchased it from. The operator, said "No, No you can't do that. It has to be sent in." and she hung up. She Just cut me off!!!
Apparently, the warrenty doesn't take into consideration, the REAL LIIVES of it's customers. We can't afford to just buy another graphing calculator right now, (This was suggested by one of the "customer service" reps.) and my daughters SAT is in one week. HER FUTURE WILL, IN PART, BE AFFECTED BY THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF THE CASIO EQUIPTMENT.
I am continually ammazed at companies, LIKE THIS ONE,who manufacture products which STUDENTS need and which ARE EXPENSIVE, who do not stand behind their products in a timely manner. It took me 30 minutes to get through all the phone numbers given before I was hung up on. MY CHILD, AND ALL CHILDREN, NEEDS EVERY ADVANTAGE POSSIBLE ON TESTS WHICH AFFECT THEIR ADMISSION TO COLLEGE. We bought the calculator at the beginning of the year to be sure she had one when her class began. NOW, our attempts to be prepared have hampered the test taking process. If we had waited to buy the calculator @ Christmas, maybe it would still be working now...WHEN SHE NEEDS IT!!!!!!!
What a rip-off!!! equiptment that works just long enough to get out of warrenty!!! You know, when you can easily exchange it locally!!! NOW WE HAVE TO PAY A SHIPPING CHARGE AND W A I T !!!!
Whoever called this CUSTOMER SERVICE had a backwards dictionary!!!!
