Caswell Resources Loans Is A Scam! Zoe Zimmerman Is A Con Artist!! I was promised a $15,000 personal loan and after I paid money for Insurance for this loan, I never received the money. New York New York

I was contacted on 10/24/07 via by telephone by Zoe Zimmerman Ext 7 at Caswell Resources stating that an application for a personal loan that I filled out online was approved and that she was a broker for lenders and that she could obtain a $15,000 loan for me. She faxed to me a contract with the loan terms, which I read and filled out personal information for them and faxed back to them. After that was faxed back, she stated that to obtain the loan that I would have to supply them with funds to obtain an insurance policy to insure against loss of income for Death, Loss of job, and Long/short term disability. The amount that I sent western union was was $767.22 and I was told that I would also be reimbursed the cost of wiring it in the loan proceedings which was $66.99. The total then being sent was $834.21. The contract stated that my money would be put into an account earning 3.75% per annum. That the deposit funds would be used as collateral to secure my loan obligation. She had me wire this money to Daniel Cavallini in Woodbridge Ontario Canada. She stated that the lender was in Canada and that Daniel was only a courier for the lender. I sent the money western union on 10/25/07 and I was told by Zoe that the funds would be direct deposited into my checking account by Friday 10/26/07 no later than 2 pm. No money was ever been wired to my account and I was told by Zoe that she talked to the lender and he said everything was running smoothly, and that the money should in my account by Satuday 10/27/07, which it never was. I called Zoe on Monday 10/29, there was no answer and I left a message for her to call me. Zoe never returned my call after I left her numerous messages. I then called Caswell Resources on 10/30/07 and dailed Ext 2. and I then talked to a Mrs. Porter who said she was Zoe's supervisor. I told her about the problem, and she told me that if I requested for her to take over my file she would, and to call and contact Zoe again on 10/31 in order to transfer the file. I called Zoe on 10/31 as Mrs. Porter told me to do and Zoe didn't answer her phone. I then dailed Ext 6 at 11:30 AM and spoke to Veronica Carter and she stated that Zoe hadn't been in all week. Veronica said she would call the lender to find out what happened and would call me back. I asked her to fax me proof of the insurance policy that my funds obtained. I never got that fax. I called Veronica at 12:35 PM and she said that she called the lender and was waiting for him to call back. That I should call Zoe after 1PM when she gets back from lunch. At 1:20 after I called Zoe and she didn't answer, I called Veronica again and she informed me that the lender was being audited and that they froze his account and couldn't disburse the loan funds. I told her that if I couldn't get the funding, I wanted my deposit I paid refunded to me. I continued to call Zoe, but she never answered her calls. At 2:30PM Veronica said she talked to Zoe, and to call Zoe myself. I did and Zoe answered telling me that the audit could take 2 weeks. I told her about Mrs. Porter, and she stated that Mrs. Porter wasn't her supervisor and didn't know why she would say she was. Then Zoe said that they would find another lender in the states to give me this loan. I called Zoe at 3:25 PM, Zoe said she spoke to CEO Peterson Berkley about the situation and he said that if I paid $685 for the new insurance policy for the new lender that he would give me a grant for $1000 (which I didn't have to pay back). I told her I had no more money left to give, she told me that I basically was stuck until the audit was over, in order to transfer my money to this new lender she found, or to even get my refund of the funds paid already. I told her that I should get the $1000 grant for the inconvenience I'm having to go through. She said she'd try. I tried everyday to call Zoe, Vernoica and Mrs. Porter and got no answer everytime I called. When you call, the phone message asks for the extension you are trying to reach, then when selected, they ask who is calling and then the person at that extension would hear who is calling. I believe my calls are not being answered because they hear that it is me calling. I even had my boyfriend call and give his name, and that's when we contacted Mrs. Porter. So I called every day for a week with no answer, and finally on 11/6/07 I talked to Zoe, she stated that she got an email that morning stating, that the audit would be over this week, and that she would get my funds transferred to the other lender and get me my loan by the end of this week. I called her back on 11/8 and she didn't answer, I left another message for her to call me. Which she never did. On 11/15/07 I called and the message I got was Thank You-Goodbye and the line went dead. I have continued to call every day (the telephone system is now working) and still not getting to talk to her or anyone there. I am very disgusted and discourged that I have had to deal with this company and their lies. I left a message today 11/19/07, that I feel as though this is a scam and I would do whatever I could to get my money back. I still have not heard back from her. I am out of my hard earned money and am making this complaint because I don't feel it is right that they treated me this way. Zoe continually stated that Caswell Resources is a reputable company and been in business for over 10 years and that she's worked there for 5 years herself. If there is anyway possible to help me with this sitaution I would greatly appreciate it. At this point I'd like to get the money back I paid to them and be done with this company. Also, I imagine that if this has happened to me, that this has happened to others also.

Sorry, But You've Been Scammed

If you read the ROR and search, this is a very common scam going on. The company is a sham and those people are long gone. If you ever do find a physcial address for them, it will likely be a convenience store, empty field or football stadium.

Legal loans do not require any deposit as a condition of the loan. You might try and contact the Canadian authorities since all of these scams are working out of Canada.

PS - NEVER, NEVER wire money via money order unless you are 100% sure of the party you are wiring too.

Complaint to BBB in NY

I just wanted to let everyone that was taken advantage of by Caswell Resources that I received an email from the BBB about my complaint against them..

However, due to circumstances beyond our (or your) control, that is not always possible. Unfortunately, in this instance, the BBBs attempts to correspond with this firm regarding your dispute were unsuccessful. We will continue to investigate and monitor the situation and will provide you with any further relevant details that we may obtain regarding this matter.

Which really doesn't surprise me considering Caswell never would answer their telephone, no matter what extension you selected. When I made this complaint on 11/19/2007, the next day I tried to call them again and now their telephone number doesn't even work. The message states that I have reached a number that cannot be reached from my calling area. After looking again at the BBB website for any compliants against this company there is still zero listed. This is my response to their email to me.

I filed a case against Caswell Resources case # 767972 in which I received an email stating that due to circumstances beyond your control, that attempts to correspond with this firm regarding my dispute were unsuccessful. I live in Michigan and cannot go to their business to see if they are still at their address doing business.. Their phone is now disconnected also. Did the mail that you sent to them come back undeliverable? And I want to know why there isn't information listed on your website indicating that there are zero complaint outcomes or complaint issues. I checked this company out on your website prior to dealing with them and saw that there were no compliants and proceeded to deal with them. There is a website called ripoffreport.com that have now 10 complaints against this company Caswell Resources.

Obviously this company frauded others around the country to. Reading these testimonies you will find that some of them said that they would file a complaint with the BBB also. I don't have the money to hire an attorney to investigate this further and thought that by contacting your agency I would get some kind of help. I am disappointed that there is nothing really that can be done about them stealing my money. They need to be stopped!

I don't know if there is a way to get a class action suit going against these people, or if there is a way of even finding them. I want my money back as I am sure that all of you victims that listed their complaints on Rip Off Report. I just want justice and am willing to fight for it.
