I contracted Cathy Sviba to do the flowers at my daughters wedding. What a mistake. She requested full payment in advance and I fulfilled my part of the contract. Unfortunately C. Sviba did not.
When my daughter was handed her bridal bouquet it was not acceptable. We had asked for simple and elegant. It was anything but, there were bows all over it. It looked like a child had done it, and perhaps a child did as Cathy's young teenage daughter was with her. In addition, the bouquet looked quite skimpy. I questioned the size and was told that there were 50 flowers in the bouquet. The hotel wedding coordinator and I counted the flowers. We both counted 28 stems.
The table centerpieces were flowers floating in large vases filled with water. The water was very cloudy, not the crisp look we desired.
We contracted and paid for organza tabletop overlays. The one for the sweetheart table was the wrong size and consequently the photos look strange. Cathy Sviba was supposed to coordinate with the banquet manager on the size cloth needed.
When I signed the contract Cathy Sviba assured me that she would be there as the wedding party made its entrance. She was gone. No one could find her.
Two days after the wedding I started calling. Cathy's husband and business partner hung up on me. Very unprofessional and rude conduct. I did reach Cathy once, she said that she was at the Doctor's office and could not talk. I have left many messages, all of which have gone unanswered.
If you are looking for attention to detail do not choose Cathy Sviba. If you want your phone calls returned after your check has cleared, do not choose Cathy Sviba.

I am in the food business and have worked with Sviba Floral Decorators off and on for over 20 years and this "mother of the bride" couldn't have been more incorrect. I was at that event and this "mother from hell" had nothing nice to say about any of the professionals there. The flowers were breathtaking and service impecable as usual. The comment about 50 flowers in the bouquet and that the banquet manager agreed.....you should be ashamed of yourself for quoting people incorrectly. Not returning phone calls......after 10 calls repeating same incorrect and perverse conversations, is enough!!
Trying to get things for free at the last minute is dispicable, especially when your own daughter says it is perfect in front of everyone. Cathy Sviba is the consumate professional, so before you listen to this "mother of the brides" nonsense, call past brides and venues and you will hear accolades of the finest. Better yet, call so called catering manager for her opinion, you won't be surprised.
